I've recently bought the hardcovers of Secret War and Marvel 1602. Both looked like nice books to pick up in hardcover.

Picked up Wonder Woman: Rise of the Olympian today.

I loved WW: The Circle by Gail Simone, so I want to read more of her WW stuff.

I got Circle Chase for 20 bucks! I had like 3 or all of the original issues and the reprints in DP:" Classics 1, but I couldn't pass this up.

I'm about half way through The Walking Dead Volume 1. I also borrowed from a friend the first 4 issues of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly which I read today as well as the first 2 issues of A.O.D Shop til you Drop.

I skipped it for some reason when it came out, and just stayed up to date with what was happening, but I'm reading all of 52 now. Got the volumes from the library.

Also got hooked on Invincible from the two hardcover big ass collections.

I've been reading anything Hellboy related I can get my hands on.

I just finished reading Fallen Son: The Death of Captian America and I must say Jeph Loeb handled it pretty well. The Spider-Man, Wolverine, and funeral issues are the highlights. Grade: 10/10

Also finished, Hulk: Grey. I love Tim Sale's somewhat cartoonish art, that fits the story perfectlley. Grade: 8/10

Actually now that you mention it that was probably one of Loeb's works that was actually okay in recent times.

Is it just me, or is Loeb's work for marvel a bit below par? Besides the already mentiioned Fallen Son and the color books (Hulk: Grey, Spider-Man: Blue, Daredevil: Yellow) his other Marvel stuff has been dissapointing. Wolverine: Evolution anyone?? I mean it was ok, but based on his excellent Batman books it left me a bit dissapointed.

On another, more positive note, I finished reading Marvel: 1985 and loved the hell out of it. Mark Millar is a genious and Tommy Lee Edwards' art was very cool. Grade: 9/10

I just read The Freshmen by Hugh Sterbakov (Seth Green's Friend). I thought it was a really fun read. A little wordy but I'm sure as Hugh gets more experience that will improve. I look forward to reading more stuff from him.

Finished Marvel Zombies. I really liked Robert Kirkman's writing and the whole Galactus/ Silver Surfer thing. I found the book to be very funny and amusing. Grade: 10/10

Also finished Spider-Man: New Ways To Die. Great story and artwork by J.R. J.R. The whole Anti-Venom thing was awsome too. Grade: 8/10

What have you thought so far? I picked up a few Trades since I enjoyed the movies, but honestly, I think I enjoyed the movies more.

I think Loeb is great when he writes personal stories like the color books and Superman for all seasons. It all falls apart when he has to write big action, big cast of characters books

^ You won that day.

Secret Invasion was kind...could've been so much better. Marvel 1602, I thought, was one of the most intriguing alternate worlds of Marvel ever.

Cool. Invincible and Mignola-verse turns you into a vampire for their books.

Last night I bought Fables Vol.8-12 and Jack of Fables Vol. 1-2. Got some serious catching up to do.

Oh, and in the mail I finally got Green Lantern: Willworld (Part of my bro's Christmas present, but I'm going to read it. Heh.),Batman & Son, Batman: The Black Hand, and Batman: The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul.

Just finished Titans : Old Friends. Seriously underwhelming. Winick missed the boat with this one. With this cast it's almost impossible to screw it up , but he kind of did.Boring story, many out-of-character moments = FAIL! Three artists for one trade didn't help much either. Joe Benitez's was definitely the worst...giraffe-necked Flash anyone?

Was that the first story arc? If so, I totally agree. Could have been good instead it completely failed. Not just that but he also resurrected a story that's been well and truly done before with the Titans.

I finally bought, what seems like, a "remastered" version of Gaiman's Sandman (I wasn't even aware they had done so for Sandman). The colors look sharper so I assume it was done so. So I finally own my very own copy and not one that was loaned or given to me. On that note, it smells nice too. wub
