My drama with Wizard continues.......
I checkl my email fromn work and I see I have a PM from Spat. I can't log into the wumb from work so I get home and read it. It says the following:
Can you please delete the Wizard logo in your banner with "Guide to forcing you to choose" text on it? It's very disrespectful to use that since this is the Wizard Message Board.
Thank you!
-Spat
I am like thinking, ok cool. I have no problem doing this, my point on placing the banner there was to get the attention of someone on staff. So I go into my control panel to respectfully remove it and I find that it has already been removed for me, not only was it removed for me, but my C2E2 banner was also removed.
Anyway, since Spat decided to stick his two cents into the thread, I decided to take his point and debate it:

And as for the focus on comics, I consider our Media Guests who appear in movies or TV shows that are based on Comic Books to be Comic Guests in their own way. John Schneider played Jonathan Kent on Smallville, so as far as I'm concerned, he fits right in.
Thomas Jane had nothing to do with the Punisher comics, but a lot of people brought their Amazing Spider-Man 129 to the show for him to sign.
And I do believe that little kids are more likely to start collecting comics after seeing an awesome movie based on a comic.
A for effort, but sorry, this means nothing. Good try though. Spat, I don't mean to disrespecxt you but this is stretching to the max. At this years Chicago show, I watched a young kid about 8 years old, stare at the spot where Marvel had the huge Hulk statue last year and he looked to his dad and asked, "Where is the Hulk?" I believe that kids are more likely to start collecting comics after having a visual.
Awesome movies based on comics, like Watchmen, 300, Sin City and Dark Knight? I would never bring a small child to those movies and I belive that those are the awesome movies based on comics.
I have gone to the Chicago Con for a very long time Spat, for more years then Wizard has been around, and this year when I walked in and saw no banners, no publishers and just a bunch of tables where media guests would be signing autographs, well, that brought a wave of sadness upon me. Wizard seriously has no right using the name Comic for these cons. Even now, you guest list for the Toronto COMIC-con has no comic book based people on it.
Also, Spat, I want to thank you for sending me a pm about my Wizard signature being disrespectful and asking me to remove it. I see that you didn't even bother waiting until I got home to remove it and you just removed it for me, you also removed my C2E2 banner as well. You didn't even mention that one in your pm to me. If Wizard has no fear from them why remove it? Sounds a bit Third Reich to me. Censorship at it's best.
My Wizard banner was created to get the attention of Wizard staff, I see it got the attention, but did you actually read any of my postings? Do the industry a favor, change the dates that clash with Chicago and New York, do what it takes to get publishers back at your shows or don't bother calling them Comic cons. Stop having your fellow staff member bad mouth fans on their facerbook pages. Make the magazine the guide to comics again, that was how the magazine got it's success.
Only posts I will do on WUMB from here on out are ones to point out their stupidity for everyone to see.
