I don't know for sure if Jeph ever knew exactly what happened.

That was Paul, he runs the Non Sport Card Expo in Carol Stream. He did, I misplaced it and now it's all been wiped clean.

Give me 10 minutes, I can get a ghost copy of the thread.

Hey Wizard World fans!

Wizard is currently putting together a hardcover book as a tribute to the life and work of Michael Turner and we would like to include commissions and sketches that he's done for fans. If anyone has a sketch done by Michael Turner, please e-mail the

1. Highest resolution JPG you have (or re-scan the piece at a higher resolution, at least 300)
2. Your name and location (ex: Brett White, New York, NY)

to:

The deadline for this is 5 P.M. Tuesday, February 10th, so please get them in as soon as possible! We'll select 5 to 10 of them and publish them along with your name and city.

Since Wizard staffers post in this forum, I figured I might actually get an answer to all this. In the Conventions forum we've been ignored.

I have contacted customer service...nothing. I contacted another service email...zero responce. I have contacted Vince over at Aspen and he kindly responded that he would foward my concern to Wizard and they haven't responded back to him or me as of yet. Not a happy spider right now! We were told that a portion of the proceeds would go to the Sam Loeb Fund and NOW it looks like that is untrue. Michael loved doing stuff or anything to help the Sam Loeb Fund, and it seemed that Wizard was honoring that, now it looks like they are disrespecting that! Not cool! Normally I wouldn't be pissed like this and it could of been avoided or justified if someone who KNEW what was going on, would respond back! Let the fans know, WHO BUY YOUR BOOKS, what the deal is.

I've emailed customer service and so have others. We have yet to get a reply. This is ridiculous. Any information at this point would be greatly appreciated.

U know i'm really still curious about this. Any Wizard staffer want to take a run at this? A simple "no" none of the proceeds went to charity or "yes" some of the proceeds went to charity would suffice.

Wow, thanks Jeremy! This is one of 3 threads about this book, all were ignored by staffers.

And by the way, 'Captain Chatty' was DigsyMadrox's (Brett) title, Cherry Bomb was mine.

Honestly, I think it's worth bringing to Jeff’s attention. It wrong that all these submissions were made thinking profits were going to go to a charity only to find out that the charity didn't see a dime. I know if I was in Jeff's position I would be pissed

In the uk that would be a sueable action. You contributed those sketches believing it was for a good cause and it turned out not to be thats false advertising

It won't be long before the magazines shut down and its strictly a convention ran business. I've said it many times, I think he's moving onto a new venture with conventions, which is where his money seems to be going. Given that he can't remain competitive with the magazine, I guess it makes sense for him from a business stand point. Then again, Art Asylum's forums went down several times and came back from the dead too. Only time will tell.

What sucks is that Gail SImone broke into the Top 10 boys club and now they remove that part of the magazine. Ugh.

What sucks is that after over a decade in the industry only recently they let Gail Simone into their Top 10.

Just wanted to say hello everyone. I, too was banned almost 6 months ago from WUMB (for being the 1st post that DC would not be attending Philly), my ban was due to be over on 11/22 and I had a lot to say and was planning on getting banned again on 11/23.
