I do find it interesting that the most excited I have been about Batman and Superman is when the titular characters have been removed.Metal Misfit wrote:Yeah, I fell for the Super-hype before when Busiek & Johns were in charge and it didn't really do much for me. Who knew the way to fix the Superman books was to get rid of Superman?
Batman25JM wrote:Why are these books lumped together. Sure they are sharing a common storyline right now, but I think they should all have separate threads. This is gonna get mega confusing.

Eh I was loving this book till like the last couple issues. This issue just seems like more filler with the Saturnians out-of-nowhere and oddly executed appearance, then the weirdly quick resolution to the Thanagarian issue. And now with the last page it seems like there will be more filler. In final few issues I hope they get back to focusing more on Supes, Zod, and the Guild situation. There was a little of that here but it should be the main focus. I'm still excited about the big Supes story they seem to be building to though.
LOOSECANNON wrote:Good point. Just didn't make for an interesting read. Guardians of the Galaxy is an example of a book that "plants seeds" while keeping the current material interesting.
Uh oh, there I go with my Marvel vs. DC crap again!
LordD3r3k wrote:I dont think the appearance by the Thanagarians and Saturians were pointless at all. I think it's building to a galactic confrontation between New Krypton and the rest of the galaxy. These are the seeds of that confrontation. And when the inevitable war between Earth and New Krypton erupts, perhaps it'll be the help received by these other races that Earth is able to defend itself against 100,000 Kryptonians.
It does seem alittle slow at the moment, but looking down the line I can see a massive intergalactic war brewing.

I dont see how it came out of nowhere. I mean, if you start rearranging the galaxy I'm sure someone is bound to notice
And yeah, it did seem to get resolved quickly, but like you said if it seems like things are dragging then it's probably good it didnt take long
Bigtymin504 wrote:Out of nowhere meaning I thought it wasn't adequately set up within the issue. They've kinda been jumping from one thing to the next the last couple issues, and now with Adam Strange it seems like next issue will follow the same track. I just think if they're gonna use those concepts then they should develop them a little better so they're worth it, because they've taken focus off of other interesting plot threads dealing with Supes/Zod, the Guilds, etc. Still looking forward to whats coming though.

I hear ya. And as you know, I stay away from all solicitations and spoilers, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what's in store for Superman in the upcoming months
Yeah, these PoP! guys suck! Let's all move to InvestComics to bitch about how awful they are!LOOSECANNON wrote:
The review format on this site already blows, mind as well make it worse by lumping every book together and just pissing everyone the hell off. Let's face it: we can't wait for WUMB to come back.
