Well, since it's kinda been decided that there will just be a general discussion thread for each book, I wanted to make one for my favorite book on the stands.

So, here it is.

Someone. (esbat, he'll be the scapegoat this time) That instaed of making a thread for every book that comes out every week, to instead make generalized threads for books that fall under some sort of umbrella, lke a Daredevil thread instead of a new one every 3-4 weeks.

I like the direction of where this is going, I haven't really like Daredevil much asside from fall from grace and Kevin smiths run, but it is really good right now.

Well, Esbat suggested having a thread that deals with a book as a whole instead of each issue individually, and others thought it was a pretty good idea.

But is the idea dead?

Yup. The thread will become a convoluted mess of people talking about a bunch of different subjects/books.

I'm keeping it all open for now. I'm sure people have a lot to say about Daredevil anyway.

Why is this thread the one getting the heat for being created when there are like four others created prior to it?

This is gonna turn into a big thing like the separate reviews forum was on the WUMB, isn't it?

no, probably not, but we just like to pick on anything named batman in the marvel section anyway. Wink

There aren't a ton of DD books so I think this one won't be the same as starting a Batman or X-Men specific thread.

I picked this because it was the first topic on the page.

Now let's talk some Daredevil...

Ben Affleck was the bomb in 'Phantoms', wasn't he?

I assume this is meant to show how these threads could get off topic.

The title of the thread says COMIC in it, which kinda implies it is about the comic, not the movie, nor movies that starred the star of the movie.

Oh, right.

John Romita Sr. is going to be a guest of honor in SDCC '10.

I actually stopped reading the book with issue #600.

I really enjoyed Brubaker's run of the series quite a bit.

Haven't read it since #90-something when I dropped all of my pull-list. Been planning on catching on for a long time and maybe I'll get back with the new creative team (although the "new" status quo sounds kinda stupid).

(I know someone will complain since for some reason moved topics don't leave a "shadow" in the old forums they were in, but the discussion about review threads was moved from DC to General.)

Okay, how in the hell is there not a discussion about Daredevil?

Daredevil #502

It's almost impossible to review this issue without spoiling anything major in terms of plotting and Daredevil's status quo so I will just say this: this book is really, really good. Something may've happened that'll have us all wondering why it did; certain someones will wonder if it's an editorial decision overlooking the writer's shoulder. Maybe it's a double retcon, espionage-led twist. It's still possible what we learned a couple issues ago is the real deal.

#503 is going to be as important to the near future of Diggle's run as was Brubaker's closing 500th epic. It'll tell us a lot. Despite this notion, there are so many other interesting threads that'll keep this book alive and poppin' and with art as improved and thankfully fitting as De La Torre's, I'm sure our favorite blind hero (or villain?) is in good hands.

***Spoilers***

I do not have words for how much I loved this issue. I just don't. I was extremely worried that I wouldn't like this book anymore after Brubaker left. When he was on the book it was my favorite one on the stands. Well, after two issues of Diggle (three if you count The List) I can say it's still my favorite book on the stands.

I am thrilled that Izo is still alive. I really like him.

The Kingpin is just awesome. He's my favorite Marvel villain.

Robert De La Torre's art is great. It's a nice mix between Maleev and Lark.

I knew there was more to Master Izo's "death" than meets the eye! Daredevil still seems to be a little unsure how to handle his leadership of the Hand. His ultimate goal is to destroy it, but I think he also sees it a tool he can use to accomplish his goals. Should be interesting what he does with them. Also, Kingpin is definitely back, that move he ordered of Lady Bullseye was cold-blooded...and badass! Laughing

Its really amazing how this book seamlessly goes from one creator's long run to the next and never dips in quality. Andy Diggle is bringing such a new take on the book but still keeping it at the high quality level we've come to expect on a Daredevil book cuz of epic runs by Bendis and Brubaker. Plus, De La Torre's art has been great.
