Punisher #10

The most important Punisher issue in years gets no response? (Editor: at the IGN forum.) The consequential build-up between The Hood vs. the Punisher finally lives up the hype, taking Frank to the place he wishes he never wished for. He makes a crucial decision, and a lot of nutty things happened. It's as Disney struck Marvel a new chord, allowing them to make editorial decisions instead of the typical "see you next week" continuity we're used to. Things HAPPEN to Pun here, and as physical as it gets in this week's List issue, I wonder if this issue didn't tear the man even further in #10.

This book is pretty cool, I lost interest in PWJ during that awful Nazi/KKK storyline, but this book is back into the swing of things. I don't remember the artist of this arc, but it seemed like he was avoiding to draw eyes the whole time. Laughing

I'm enjoying the MAX series as well (where's the thread for THAT or are we combining the two here?).

So...the Punisher's dead now?!
Okay, not really, but he got all chopped up by Daken in the Dark Reign: Punisher one-shot! And now he's going to be reassembled as...Frankencastle? I'm speechless!

Sounds awful. They didn't learn their lesson from that '90s Punisher series? Punisher and supernatural don't mix.

With Jason Aaron's Punishermax out, did you really expect anything but a total revamp of the 616 series? There's no reason to have two Punisher books be the same; especially with Aaron's War Zone-influenced book coming off the way it does, merely having Castle running around killing folks would get old. So Remender thought: why not have him kill monsters? Or actually, have him protect monsters? It's definitely a risk, but with Tony Moore on board and Ghost Rider almost out the door, the supernatural take on Punisher isn't all that surprising. What's surprising is maybe how good this is. Hearing the words "Franken Castle" are bound to make any comic fan cringe, but Ricky Remdawg pulls this one off--and with flying colors. Sure, it's a spotlight for Moore's artwork and creative prowess at drawing silly, strange and absolutely wonderful looking monsters. But did you really think Punisher would kill Osbourne? Did you really think they would just kill off a character that's proven to be a hot seller for their line and end the run of a writer who's doing the best Pun since Ennis? Nope. Credit Marvel for taking risks and giving us Ghost Rider fans the book we always wanted. Oops.

4/5 Bullets - Impressive if you like the movie Grindhouse, or were onboard with Aaron's Ghost Rider

Yeah, I'm like a month or two behind in all the titles I read, apparently.

My feelings concerning the current Punisher title:

I've stopped bothering with any Punihser beyond MAX now. Sleep
