Intresting, my local malls have been lacking a toy store ever since Kay-Be folded, I hope they decide to keep these or at least a few of them after the holidays

That is a WISE move, especially since there will be no KB in the malls this year.

I was out over the weekend looking for parts for my Halloween costume and I met my brother at one of the malls by us for lunch. I walked past the empty store space that used to be a Kay Bee and felt so sad. Not quite as sad as when Duane's Toyland closed (local toystore that was 3 floors of glorious toy heaven), but a little empty inside none the less.

These stores almost certainly WON'T stay open. In fact, this makes me even more nervous about the future of TRU. Kay-Bee did this shortly before they closed. It's little more than a grab for quick revenue.

Considering that TRU just bought FAO Schwartz, I think they'll be fine. I doubt that these will be open past the holidays, but I'm sure it will bring them plenty of extra revenue considering that KB is gone.

this sounds like a smart move. there are no stores in the malls right now. they are doing it for the holidays and it sounds like a trial and if it does well it will cpntinue after the holidays. i would love to have a toys r us closer to my house. and there is a mall right by me where KB used to be. maybe they will open one in that mall
