Didn't see a thread...

Anyone watch the 5th season premiere.

I loved it. Ted's lecture was great (especially not knowing how to spell professor).

It'll take me a while to get used to Barney being in a relationship, but I'm sure it'll be legen...wait for it...dary. Wink

A solid season premiere. I can't wait to not find out who the Mother is again this season.

Agreed.

She was in the classroom from the season premiere, but they've been in the same room before and never met, so there ya go.

I don't think he did that at all last season. If he did, it was pretty rare. I think we'll be seeing a lot of develoment of Barney's character this season.

I'm with you there. It's just like all the people I went to high school with saying "Schwing" and "Not" all the time after Wayne's World came out. Still love the movie, but the catch phrases got old really quickly.

I don't think the show would be over. They'd show their relationship, them getting married, etc. I think we'll find out toward the end of this season (maybe the finale) and then next season will be about their relationship.

He has to meet her pretty soon. The future seen in the show is 2030 and the kids are like 15 or 16. So they'd have to be born in 2014 or 2015 which puts the pregnancy around 2013 or so which is just 4 years from now. Now, assuming they get married before she gets pregnant and assuming they date for a year or two before marriage then he HAS to meet her soon.

I love the Legen...wait for it...dary thing. It's one of his catchphrases.

Lets not forget, we still need to see whatever accident it is that turns Ted in Bob Saget...

Laughing

I know they wanted a more mature voice for older Ted, and I like Bob Saget narrating a LOT, but it is weird. Voices don't change like that after a certain age.

I do think they should have a little joke at the end about something happening to his vocal cords.

Ted is Bob Saget??? NO SHIT! I didn't know that!

On another note, I did happen to buy Barney's book, its called The Bro Code.

Funny stuff in there on being a wing man and following the code to being a bro.

I didn't know about Saget until the Season 1 DVD special features. I still love it.

And, that book is one of the greatest books ever written.

Next to "The Truth About Chuck Norris". tongue

I'm almost certain they'll do something like that for the series finale.

This is a big part of why I've stopped watching it. I kind of hated last season and the fact that this gimmick has been trung out too long. Change the name to "How I Married Your Mother" and let the show progress.

I also HATE Barney's maturation. It's just like House. I enjoy too much the characters they were, and now... meh.

Chuck Norris book will always be number 1 in everyone's eyes. But Bro Code is very underated. I cant even begin to speak of the rules of the book without getting into trouble. Plus, there are women here, we cannot speak of that here.

It'll probably never get funnier than "Slap-Bet", but I might have to go with "The Slutty Pumpkin".

Barney showing up at Ted's door in a full flight suit and playing Danger Zone in the background is classic.

Slap-Bet was awesome. How many more does Stinson have coming? Two or three?

This is one of the best shows on TV. Didn't it get nominated for Best Comedy? Too bad ratings don't match up to reviews of the show. Hopefully, the show can capitalize on the buzz Neil Patrick Harris got for hosting the Emmys.
