The Vampire Diaries

So, I gave this show a shot and I don't know why but I wound up really liking it. There is a reason that the two lead vampires can walk in the day and yet they are not immune to the other ways to kill a vampire. Also, I was surprised at how nobody on the show seems to be safe which was an interesting twist. Overall, it's a pretty good show and I think I'll watch it again from the beginning when it comes on DVD. Does anyone else watch this show?

It doesn't sparkle so you bet I watch. And they made fun of the Twilight books.

I LOVE the show, absolutely LOVE it. I was expecting to hate it, but it's awesome.

The rings that allow them to go out in the day are nice. Also, the fact that people aren't safe is cool. I've been surprised by a couple of deaths.

Damon is by far my favorite character. He's awesome.

I really liked last week's episode. I KNEW that Damon was going to kill Lexi and set her up almost immediately. It's a shame though because it would have been nice to see more of her. I hope we end up getting some flashbacks to show them meeting and some of their previous adventures.

I was so pissed when they killed off Lexi but I guess I should have seen that coming as well. They made her such an interesting character in the one episode that she was on that you felt bad when they killed her off at the end. I wanted to see more of her to be honest and I was also surprised about some other deaths as well.

Overall, this is a very interesting show. Here's the question though. I like the show. Are the books worth my time as well?

I've never read the books. I'm kinda interested to now, but I don't know if I want to do it. I know that if I read them now all I'll do is think "well, that's not how it is in the show". Plus, if they use big story points from the books in the show it could ruin the show if I know them.

You read my mind when it comes to why I am sort of staying away from the books. I kind of want to read them but at the same time, I fear that it might ruin my enjoyment of the tv series.

Arielle Kebbel is so hot, I thought she was going to stay for atleast a few episodes. And then she gets staked. I felt betrayed by a freakin emo vampire man! I want to kill him now! Is it normal to feel like?

Yep. The Vampire Diaries is a good show-I remember me and Batman25JM were blowing up it's thread on WUMB along with others.

I would have never knew I'd like it because of the lovey dovey nature of the vampires-with the exception of Buffy with Angel and Spike. It's really amazing-does anyone also think Bonnie will become a major threat to the vampires? The next episode seems to look like what her hiatus and small roles was for.

lol TV Guide laughed at the show for this. They knocked the book series that made their show possible? Also the same exact fans watch and read Twilight that like this show.


Im not a teenie bopper so I dont watch or read any of this just found it amusing.

I completely agree about Arielle Kebbel. She is super hot.

I don't know if Bonnie will become a major threat to them. I kinda see her and Stefan teaming up. I honestly have no idea where this show is going and that's one of the things I love about it.

History Repeating was a nice episode. I have to say the show has been solid all season long-I haven't be disappointed yet!

I freakin' this show.

I did not see the ending with Logan coming.

For some reason the minute I saw Alaric I figured he was a vampire. Then the whole ring thing and the not being invited in things only confirmed my suspicion.

I just cannot say enough how much I love this show. Anyone not watching should be.

Im still trying to figure out the whole Logan thing. How, when? But wasn't he... huh?

I paused the hell out of that show and just stared into space trying to relive the moment where Damien just bites him.

Well, as they mentioned before (and in this episode) a person will turn into a vampire if they die after ingesting vampire blood. I'm assuming that Logan had ingested it at some point. I can't remember, but I figure we'll be told in the next episode.

That's the whole thing... who the hell sired him?

I'm sure that'll be explained next week.

I didn't even realize that was Kendra. Holy Cow! That's awesome. I loved her as Kendra the Vampire Slayer. Nice catch.

Holy frak!! I LOVE this show!!

I can't believe they killed Logan. Again!! I can't wait to see who turned him.

I'm also looking forward to Alaric being explored more.

I KNEW that Stefan was going to leave and Elena was going to find a pic of Katherine.

I can't wait to see who or what (yes, probably a Vampire, but you never know) hit.

Does anyone else think Tyler and his dad may be werewolves. The aggression would make sense if that were the case. Alaric's line about the Mayor being an alpha male and then the shot of the full moon seem to hint at that.

Im going to have to watch the 5 day marathon just to look for the wolf clues.

Yet, another great episode-those Twilight fans are missing out on some good sh-t.

What? Grrr! I guess it's safe to say these Twilight fans won't ever buy a box set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel or even like this new show, The Vampire Diaries. Also, what's with this sparkling vampire thing? From what I've seen in trailers and TV ads-I don't remember sparkles in the vampire's skin...
