BTW, what's this I hear about it being cancelled? Given the wide and diverse fanbase, it seems hard to imagine and just plain silly, especially when a good part of the fanbase is not as discriminating in their tastes (the section comprised of kids) as others.

Would you guys recomend these books for kids just learning to read? First graders who are 5 and 6 years old.

I think they're suitable for that age. I read mostly the Spider-man and Avengers line. The Avengers line, certainly.
