I love both Marvel and DC fairly equally, as I'm sure a lot of us here do, but in the end I imagine we all lean, however slightly, more towards one company in terms of preference of universe and characters.

I used to lean towards Marvel, a long time ago. But I currently read way more DC titles. Damned Superman and Green Lantern books! Laughing

My reading habits have alternated back and forth through the years...But the majority of books that I own and read are DC.

Presently, I read mostly DC. That said, DC books have been getting dropped and indie books from Image, Dynamite, Slave Labor Graphics, and Boom! Studios have been getting picked up.

I read more DC and I like DC's characters better (now if only we could do something about the writing...).

Huh. Surprised there're only two Marvel Zombies to chime in.

I dabble just a tiny bit in DC with the last thing I read being the Identity Crisis trade; although, I plan on picking up Johns' GL stuff when it all gets collected.

My opinion's that I find Marvel's characters to be more grounded and relatable and DC's a bit too "god-like" and a bit cheesy. Very Happy

Everything I know about DC, I learned from cartoons. I've always been a Marvel guy.

The Dark Reign has me sucked into Marvel, I tend to read more titles by Marvel. But I do read an assload of DC.

Aww, that reminds me BC is in charge of editing Team Books. I'm glad Titans is getting better since that last arc...

For years I was almost strictly Marvel, with Batman being the only DC character I really followed. I started reading more DC around the time Giffen and Dematties' JLI came out. Nowadays I read a pretty good amount of both, but I'll always be a Marvel Zombie at heart.

I'm frustrated with DC right now. They were doing so well and then cocked it all up. Now it feels most of their books are becoming mediocre. They need some new writers (good ones, ape them from indies), rotate creative teams, and for the love of God, let the editors edit and not tell the writers what to write! Not to mention, they're doing all these event based minis: newsflash, it works for Marvel, but not so much for DC. Grow some balls and start building up franchises again!

I think its the complete reverse. I think they've been kind of shitty for the last couple of years and only now am I starting to be excited about DC again.

I liked everything about the build to Infinite Crisis from circa Identity Crisis (got me back into comics), the time during IC was good, OYL and 52 was good although the stumbles with the Trinity hurt deep, but since around Countdown to FC and the FC build-up and "payoff", its been awful imho. Right now, projects are getting cut, creators and editors are running scared, and it looks like the sky is falling and there's no where left to run. Just my opinion.

I kinda think we're starting to see a turning point for DC right now. They taken a huge beating the last 2 years or so, but it looks like they're regaining their focus. I *just* got back into reading comics, but I'm enjoying what they're doing with the Titans, Batman (well, until Morrison returns), and Superman franchises right now.

Oh well yeah, if you go back four to five years, I would agree that they were at their best. However, these last couple of years have been extremely rough and it really hasn't been until the last couple of months that I've started to get excited about DC again. Identity Crisis was fabulous, most of the 4 minis leading up to Infinite Crisis were fabulous, Crisis of Conscience was fabulous. Everything that Geoff Johns wasn't involved in after that? I have mixed feelings about 52, Countdown and Trinity were awful, Justice League hasn't been good since pre-OYL, and a lot of other titles have been languishing in mediocrity. It's only now that they seem to be getting on the right track again.

I actually really like Trinity. Not something that changes everything as we know it, but it is part of the top of my pile with Secret Six and Bomb Queen.

Maybe both should have been an option?

I do read plenty of both, but I guess I lean more towards Marvel than DC.

It's funny, most of my life I've been an almost resolute Marvel fan, but I jumped ship sometime after high school. I get a few from Marvel, but they aren't really ones that connect too deeply with the mainstream of that universe. Hulk, but even that has been loose canon-based. Ghost Rider and Eternals barely count.

DC has just been most impressive to me. If you count Vertigo with it, it's pretty friggin' awesome. Very Happy

DC for me

I could go into why, but I've been trying to avoid that trap I fell into on the WUMB Laughing
