I'm 3/4 of the way done w/ "Clan of the Cave Bear."
Dunno how I missed this one for so long - I'm really enjoying it!
I understand Daryl Hannah plays the part of Ayla in the movie, & I'm purposely NOT going to d/l it until after I've finished the book.

Do yourself a favor and give it a miss. It doesn't do the material justice.

I put this book down for awhile, but picked it up and finished it this weekend.
DC Universe: Helltown by Denny O'Neil is one of four DC Universe novels, and the first one I have read. It is a retelling and retconning of The Question mythos in DC. It begins with him first coming back to Hub City, possibly the worst city in the United States, trying to figure out his past. This was the beginning of his questioning. The book starts building a conspiracy that involves criminality of the governement, of religion, and military. Without giving anything away, it is basically a mystery novel with Vic Sage (AKA Charles Victor Szasz becoming the mystery man known as The Question. From his confrontation with Lady Shiva to his training by Richard Dragon to Tot helping him build his costume to The Batman extending his hand. It is so interesting to see him become that character, and the conspiracy is pretty fun, too. I'd rate it 7.5 out of 10, and I'm taking away my bias for my love of the character.

Re-reading Dragonlance Chronicles with the annotated three-in-one volume. When I'm done with that, I'm taking another run at Dragonlance Legends. They just don't write 'em like that anymore.

I like Tasselhoff, too. But the second set of books, Time/War/Test of the Twins has always been my favorite. Brian & I both re-read the Dragonlance books at least once a year.
If you like those, you might enjoy the Deathgate Cycle. Same authors, good story. Even Fizban makes appearances.
Also, I would recommend "The Immortals" by Tracy Hickman. It's a totally different kind of story, but it's powerfully intense and very well-written.
Right now I'm reading "Wishful Drinking" by Carrie Fisher. It's a small book, & I expect to finish it tonight. She has a wit I didn't expect, and it's been a surprisingly enjoyable read.
After this I'll be reading that "Wolfman" book someone here - ?Astro? - recommended a few weeks back.

Just finished The Time Traveler's Wife. Great book, really recommend it for anyone who's got some free time and enjoys a well-crafted story. The thing could probably be a graphic novel if they got the right artist to do it.

I have found myself giving up on alot of newer books and picking up alot I have already read.
I was left a book collection from a passing family member full of 1930's-1960's sci-fi and fantasy.
Im currently going through Robert E. Howard's Conan books from the mid 30's, I just finished Hour of the Dragon and Im half way through Red Nails.
Oh, and I'm on a constant rotation of Starship Troopers and Dante's Inferno (Porcelain throne reads)
I was left a book collection from a passing family member full of 1930's-1960's sci-fi and fantasy.
