So here it is, the big mega-project between the original founders. The premise? Slightly intriguing.. recently deceased (re-deceased?) Al Simmons, aka Spawn, has reached a whole new level of power, becoming more like his creator Malebolgia. While the "why" is still unclear, Al seems bent on destroying earth, and only the Image heroes can stop him.. if they can band together in time.
So the premise, ok so far. But the writing? Ouch. Is this the same Robert Kirkman that everyone raves about? And if it is.. WTF? Seriously, this book is downright painful to read at times. Based on this series thus far, I'd be highly reluctant to seek out his other work.
I'll continue to buy this series because I like to root for the underdog.. but damn Kirkman, step it up.
