This has some nice potential. I would rather he just pick up where he left off, maybe with an X-Men 4, but this could be good.

If they stick with the continuity of the X-films so far, they can't use Angel and Iceman as original X-Men so that sucks. My guess for the core line up would be Scott, Jean, Beast, and Storm with Xavier bringing them all in. And maybe they could have other mutants like Emma Frost as an early student that leaves the team.

Eh, I'm not excited about this. Not a big fan of the X films (they're alright, but far from great) and the whole first class noob students crap doesn't appeal as much as future developed story lines.

But do any of those characters make sense if Xavier and Magneto are twenty-somethings in the film? Surely most of them wouldn't even be born yet at that stage or they certainly wouldn't be teenagers.

On another note, picking up on one of the other comments in that article - a remake of Excalibur? Oh man why can't they just leave these films alone. If you have to, just do a new version of the Arthurian legend but don't remake a film that is still good and, I believe, stands up to the test of time. This remake stuff is starting to get a bit silly.

^ Ya, they had King Arthur in 2004, and it was only okay.

The First Class had me excited with the title, assuming New Mutants or a whole new...well, class. That's the way to go. Or Hell, EXcalibur Wink, X-Force (X-Statix Smile ), something. They had a chance, like the Spidey films, to use title adjectives of the series, which I thought would've been cool. Astonishing, Uncanny, etc.--but they never have. Only revamps have done that, like Punisher and Hulk.

Also, Jack the Giant Killer? Really? It's just that...there are other things...better to redo or give original thought to...just whatever.

I would like to see a movie that focuses on the young mutants at the institute now and not cyke jean or storm. like they could be in the movie but only as the staff, maybe going to help them at the end. You could have any number of students there in the movie. like someone said do a new mutnats story where they are learning from the x-men

well, thats not what this is, so don't be disappointed. But for real, it says it will fature Prof and Mags as 20 something year olds, but feature a few mutants we've seen before? It can't be scott or jean, really Beast is the only one who fits that.

This bums me out because it means Fox will keep hold of the X-Men license for a while, and I want to see it go to Marvel Studios. Oh, well, the Fox X-Men movies have had a pretty good track record, besides X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so hopefully it'll be decent.

Possibly Wolverine too. it would not be an x-men movie with out him!! maybe just a scene or something from the war now that they have established he was in it

Yeah I was like scratch when I read that too. But it seemed like the guy writing the article just made that insinuation, cuz it wasn't a direct quote from Singer. So the guy probably just doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sure Singer knows that the timeline wouldn't quite work if Xavier and Magneto were in their 20s while recruiting Scott, Jean, and co.

Yeah I wish Marvel Studios got the rights back to all their characters, but at least the X-films have been pretty good so far, especially the Singer-directed ones.

I reeealy wish Fox would give up the rights to Fantastic Four and Daredevil and let Marvel Studios take a crack at those. Fantastic Four could be epic if Marvel did it, and Daredevil in particular could be so badass if done right. It could be very grim, gritty, and Dark Knight-esque.

I'm not looking forward to this too much. They've already ruined my favorites of the original X-Men (Angel and Iceman)... well, at least they still have beast.

I really don't want Wolverine to be in this movie, but I'm about 100% positive he will be.

Sad realization: I was watching volume four of the 90s animated series the other night. It's amazing how much better that series was than ANY of the X-Men movies have been.

I'm excited about this. I would rather they continue with an X-Men 4, but this sounds cool. I've liked all four of the X-Men movies (even though I didn't really care a lot for Wolverine, I still kinda liked it, I loved Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth), so I bet I'll like this.

I really think they'll go with Scott, Jean, and Beast. I don't think they'll go with twenty something Professor X and Magneto. I bet that is just conjecture. They might use the freed mutants from Wolverine as the class. I just really hope that Beast is in the movie. He's my favorite X-Man. I wish that Kelsey Grammer could play him (he did a fantastic job), but alas he can't pass for a 15 year old. Smile

^ Wasn't Beast older than most of them from the start? He was at least in his early 20s, and with the prosthetics to make him look like a hairless ape-man could still fly. At the end, they could have him evolve into blue fur. They'll probably have to change the reason, though.

One. That's it. And it was barely visible. I want a multitude of Sentinels that will wipe out atleast a few mutants (Morph) and have that Sentinel speak to where we see Wolverine just jump up at the em-effer and tear it apart instead of having him smoke a cigar while standing there looking cool and not looking back at the explosion.

I want Sentinels!

Morph has no place in a decent X-movie. The Sentinels could be the adversaries of the X-Men in this film.

I hate the traditional Sentinels. They're basicly walking deathcamps that could go off and destroy a city in an instant and i find that too implausibe to have on screen. If they're people in robot suits or something i'd buy that.

Kind of like that Nimrod character, he was like a small Sentinel, I think. I'm not sure about this one, though. I kind of want a continuation, even though I didn't like X3 that much. If only Singer hadn't left to do the Superman movie!
