My most recent purchase was Carnivale: Season 2 over 4 months ago and I'm only currently watching it.

2-3 months ago I also got 3 DVDs in a "3 for 99 NIS" sale: Spinal Tap (sadly, the disc turned out to be fucked up and thus the movie a nightmare to watch), Wild at Heart and The Escape From Sobibor.

Here's one of the DVDS I got recently:

LOOKIT WHAT I JUST GOT!...show off your SCORE! (Official DVD Purchases Thread) Deadlyvenoms

I love old school Kung Fu movies, and the Dragon Dynasty stuff is great. The prints are beautiful, and the remastered audio is great. A lot of the commentaries are good, some are done by Tarantino, and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin is done by the RZA from Wu Tang Clan.

Was not my intention to offend, but as a comic fan, I was highly irritated with Wolverine. The total bastardization of Deadpool, The fact that they combined Silver Fox with Stacy X, The unreconizable Maverick and Beak as well as the many plot holes.

There are tons of things I like that other folks don't, it doesnt bother me at all when folks disagree with what I like. That's what makes people unique. No one is going to like everything that's a given. What I am more intrested in hearing is, what was it about Wolverine that you liked?

Agreed. And, I really wouldn't have minded the plot holes, if they hadn't seemed to go out of their way to make sure it didn't fit with the continuity established in the X2 flashbacks. I also would've preferred New/Astonishing Emma (diamond and telepathy) over Ultimate Emma (only diamond). Also, why the CG wasn't as good as the previous 3 films, or why Hugh never seemed to have the physical, hand-held claws, is beyond me.

I can still enjoy something while seeing its flaws. I try not to let flaws ruin things for me.

I agree. What I don't agree with is the whole "you're what's wrong with people" mentality that often comes with reactions like "don't buy that, they'll make more!"

Denim wrote:What I am more intrested in hearing is, what was it about Wolverine that you liked?

I like seeing characters with super powers, whether they look super-realistic or not. Without listing every specific thing I liked about the movie, it helped feed my "I want powers" hunger. It's why I bought the movie. It's why, even though I liked the first 2 seasons of Heroes better, I bought season 3.

Punisher:Warzone was really bad, but people died, and they died in extremely gory ways. Again, feeds my craving.

I don't care if the acting is laughable, I don't care if I could do better special effects, if something helps me escape reality, no matter how much I can tear it apart, I like it.

Then you might like Carnivale. I'm serious.

I agree with all your points, I was making a joke about the buying of the movie, that's the internet for you, sarcasm gets lost in it.

I personally liked season 2 of heroes, but I did not care for season 3. I havent seen War Zone yet, I do want to though. I am a firm beliver that someone should not say something sucks unless they have actually seen it.

I also agree with Tomer, Carnivale is friggin awesome

If the flaws don't ruin something, what does?

It depends on what the flaws and how many there are.

I know too many people that the tiniest, stupidest, little thing ruins the entire thing for them.

I hate Don Cheadle, but I'm still going to see Iron Man 2. I still love Rush Hour 2.

There are people who would let that keep them from both.

I disliked Denzel Washington before I saw Deja Vu. If I let flaws ruin things for me, I never would've seen the movie in the first place, and I wouldn't now love Denzel.

That's what I meant by that.

The acting in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is painful to watch, and the cinematography is so horrendous, that once the sun goes down, that it becomes visually impossible to watch*. To me, there are too many flaws, and the gravity of them is too much for me to enjoy that movie.

The butchering of Deadpool or Wolverine's CG claws don't.

I liked more than half of Heroes Season 3. The less than half that I had problems with doesn't destroy the entire series for me. My friend Don has the exact same complaints about Season 3 that I do. He now hates the entire show. Even all that he used to "love".

*(The same for any outside shots of Clerks - pitch blackness with shapes moving around in it does nothing for me; I hated Clerks when I was too young to appreciate how great the dialogue is, but even now, I still hate not being able to see what's going on outside the store at the end. I understand that both movies weren't financed that highly. That doesn't mean I like staring at a blank screen, while a girl screams over the sound of a chainsaw. I'd like to be able to see what's happening.)
