How many fucking times can you have a guy yell "Blue Blazes!" in one issue? That was annoying as fuck.

#3 was great. The side-by-side pages of the "deaths" of the Mar-Vells was a nice touch. Loved Nova taking charge as well.

Have DnA actually sucked in anyone with the "cliffhanger" ending for #3? They're in a universe where no one dies! A cliffhanger ending where someone apparently dies is kind of pointless.

The art is still all wrong for this kind of book.

I'm being overly critical but I feel these guys have produced far superior work in the past and I'd like to hold them up to that level of quality. Having all these abstract entitities involved and actually referring to them as that and then making comments about an "existential war" that they're fighting - well it just kind of borders on the ridiculous so much that it kills any kind of connection to a human story hidden amongst all this.

This is the kind of cosmic mumbo jumbo that Jim Starlin can get into when his work becomes much less than when he's at his best.

^I have to respectfully disagree with just about everything you said Aussie. The cliffhanger has more to do with Drax possibly messing up everyone's plans than it does about Thanos actually dying (which I'm sure nobody actually believes would happen right now). I thought it was perfect considering the history between Drax and Thanos and how important Thanos is to the good guys' plan.

The art wouldn't have been my first choice for this, but I do think he's turning out some very solid work. And I'm absolutely loving the story. Everything with Mar-Vell and his death in this alternate universe was really well done, creepy even.

Also, I got a bit giddy on this part:
Medusa: "Do you know who you want for this mission Nova?" Nova: "Yes, Ma'am." (Next panel: my sig) thumbs up

Fair enough too! I may have been in a bad mood when I wrote that post and DnA copped the brunt of it. Laughing

Horses for courses I guess. This mini isn't doing it for me but I can certainly see plenty of others are liking it. My main hope is that it re-energises the cosmic side of things again although I thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Guardians of the Galaxy book. In fact I thought it was great but the sales weren't good.

Your opinions are always respected by me buddy. Wink

Also wanna say how I love the way Nova has grown over the years in these cosmic events. He's gone from being an upstart that's in over his head in Annihilation, to a cosmic Steve Rogers of sorts in Thanos Imperative. Just superb character work.

Highly enjoyed #4. Especially Nova & co. kicking ass.

Spoiler:
I also doubt we've seen the last of Drax. The dude comes back from the dead a lot.

Just a thought - if there's no death in that universe, doesn't that easily pave the way to him coming back somehow?

#4 was the best one yet...sure the red-herring was covered up, and there were only minor quips from our favorite Guardians, but how awesome were the Cosmic Avengers? Just seeing the Surfer back in action was worth the price alone.

Again, the art continues to improve over every issue. Such a risk taken by Marvel and Miguel is hitting them off with a shocking reward.

#5 was great. I loved Rich giving Quasar some Nova power. As for the ending, Thanos is totally pulling a Xanatos Gambit.

Beginning with Annihilation, nearly everything cosmic has been golden.

Like rwe said, it's all been stellar. It really isn't that hard to get caught up on everything if you want...I'd recommend starting with Annihilation, then moving onto Annihilation Conquest, some of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova runs, War of Kings, some Realm of Kings minis, then Thanos Imperative. That is a lot of stuff but it's fairly cut and dry to get into. Lemme know if you got any questions. Smile

That said, #5 was sick! I'm loving what they're doing with Nova here. Really showing how he's grown as a man and a hero ever since Annihilation. I expect an amazing finale in #6...with some HUGE ramifications for the cosmic landscape going forward.

Man, #6 was epic. Thanos' gambit was brilliant. I can't wait for the Devastation one-shot to wrap things up. And that ending... Man. I like how D 'n A left an out for all three characters to return. Because I'm sure they'll be back eventually.

Yeah great issue! Thanos is easily one of my all time favorite villains. I expect the Devastation epilogue to have some major revelations about what the future direction of the Marvel Cosmic universe will be.

I totaly forgot to get cosmic trades at Mid Ohio. #6 was amazing. R.Racoon at the end really made me feel for the characters though.

The Devastation one-shot was nothing short of perfect. A fine intro to the purpose of the Annihilators and it ends with a great set-up for the next mini. I can't wait for more.
