I downloaded the Marvel Comics app a couple of days ago. Its pretty good. While not perfect, the text is a little small held up vertically you have to turn it on its side, it transitions from panel to panel well and made for good reading.

Amazing Spider-Man 546 and 547, Fantastic Four 570, Hulk (08) 1, and New Avengers 1 and 2 are all free right now.

Others are 1.99 each. I'll keep the app for the free comics if they dish out a semi constant supply but probably won't buy any until see what other series are going to be included.

Are they going to offer a subscription like they do for their online comics? that is only 4.99 a month sometimes with specials and there is a huge library.

I got this, too! It's pretty neat, a few of my friends really liked it when I showed it to them. Comics, just like movies, music and games these days, are probably going to go this route, I think. I know there are comic fans who are into the collecting part of the hobby, but me, I just enjoy reading them. Plus, prices could stay low since there wouldn't be the printing and shipping costs.
Of course, I'd rather still have a way of storing the files elsewhere. I wouldn't want to lose a whole collection when my Pad died! With cloud storage getting to be all the rage, maybe there could be sites you could upload your digital comics to, sort of like a virtual longbox.

Sounds good. I played around with the iPad at the mall and I could totally see myself reading comics on there. If they ultimately start doing new releases digitally, I'd probably get some of my books on there, mostly the ones I'm just a casual fan of. I'd still get my favorite books in print because it's ultimately a better experience, but storage is definitely becoming an issue for me so this would be a big help. Not to mention the price will be lower than print. If they start offering subscriptions too it would be really great.

You gotta give it to Marvel for being ahead of the game on this. They set the stage with their Digital Comics Unlimited feature and now this iPad App could be pretty huge. It's a great way to get actual comic books potentially in the hands of millions that never would have been exposed to them. If you think about it, regular folks rarely if ever get exposed to actual comic books, this could change that.

DC needs to jump on this bandwagon, I'd like to be able to get some of their titles this way, too.
I hope Marvel does the free comic thing often, maybe offer an issue or two of a book, especially those with lower sales. It would be a good way for people to check them out.

I want to see some complete short series, maybe at a cheaper price.

Like right now there is Marvel Zombies 1-5 up. Right now its still 1.99 each. 10 bucks seems high to me considering I got the trade for less at a con.

So group rates or deals if you buy multible of a series. And more short series so you don't have to wonder when your getting the next issue.

^^This is going to be interesting. I'm sure they'll sell more digital versions of the comic but I'm interested in seeing the monetary effect. Digital is cheaper than print so I would like to see a side by side comparison of that.
