At the SDCC, I heard people ask the DC people on panels about Marvel & DC crossovers. The fans said that the people at Marvel would be up for it if DC was and you more or less never got any answers from the DC people. Would you want to see DC and Marvel characters in crossover events or stories?

AFAIK, the only thing that really stopped the companies from working together over the last couple of years was Paul Levitz. With him out of the way, who knows?

I say definitely yes. I mean, why the hell not? They're just damn fun! Put some top notch creators on it and it could be epic.

I would like it for nothing more than to see each side's exclusive talent be able to bend the rules and work together.

I beg to differ, I thought JLA/Avengers, Teen Titans/X-Men, and Superman vs Spider-Man were all pretty good. I don't think it really went downhill until the two Batman/Daredevil team-ups. If anything, that should go to show top talent should work crossovers.

I loved all of those crossovers as well. I'm not sure. I heard something about Geoff Johns wanted to a Green Lantern/Iron Man crossover which sounds awesome. I'll be honest though. I don't follow Marvel anymore. It's not that I don't like the characters but I've just been away from those characters long enough so it's kind of "out of sight, out of mind" sort of thing. I'm enjoying what's going on in the DC Universe enough where I would just rather see DC do their own thing and not do stories that involve Marvel characters. I gotta think there are people who agree with this and people who agree with this when it comes to their Marvel characters.

I don't remember the Batman/Daredevil team-ups. What I do remember and how much it sucked were the two Batman/Punisher team-ups. Ugh. Those were shit.

The Chuck Dixon one (the one that actually had Bruce in it) has one of my favorite Batman scenes in it. They just got done teaming up, but Frank is pissed about something and punches Batman in the face. Bats just takes it and goes "I let you have that one because you think I deserve it." Frank gets pissed off and swings again and Batman puts him down easily, saying "I said 'one.'"

For some reason it holds a special place in my heart.

And yes, JLA/Avengers was pretty great. I still ponder getting a tat of the picture of Superman with Cap's Shield and Thor's hammer.

I remember that scene. The absolute best moment in any of the Batman/Punisher crossovers. I loved that.

The JLA/Avengers was pretty cool and I loved the Teen Titans/X-Men crossover. For the most part though, I just want to read good stories with the DC characters. Not that interested in the Marvel ones.

Maybe it's because I don't give much a crap about pre-2000s Avengers and JLA, but their crossover was overrated. Aside for some cool moments, it was a horrible story and a dumb gimmick that stretched too long. Veteran fans are so vocal at times when it comes to modern storytelling and technics, but this one was everything bad in mainstream comics before Bendis, Johns, Morrison and Brubaker took over the industry.

That Batman/Punisher moment sounds awesome.

I completely agree. I didn't care for the JLA/Avengers crossover at all. I mean, it was cool to see the characters together, but the story sucked and the writing felt extremely dated.

Other than JLA/Avengers the only crossover I've read is DC Vs. Marvel. I liked it fine. It wasn't great, but some of it was cool and I liked the art.

I'd be up for a new crossover as long as it's good.

I have no interest in crossovers, but I wouldn't mind seeing some DC writers write Marvel books or Marvel writers writing DC books.

I'm conflicted. I put yes. Just that Bigtymin is right, but so is Rath a little. The quantity of mediocre or worse stories far out-weighs the fun. Hasn't reached epic status yet.

Course, now would be the time. I wanna see original confrontations, whether it be switching villains or hero/hero and villain/villain fights. Just try and find a better reason than 3 out of 4 issues of it being a misunderstanding. Laughing

Who doesn't want a Deathstroke and Taskmaster fight, or, better, a team up against a bunch of heroes.

Brubaker on Batman
Johns on Spider-Man (just because I'd like to read his take on Spidey)
Gail Simone on Deadpool
Morrison on a Hellstorm series

Those are just some off the top of my head.
