The weirdest part, however, was hearing Ellen Page give out a telephone number and realize that she was giving out my old number! Laughing All in all, I found it a great little film, and thought there were great performances from everyone.

Uhh....ummm... scratch

IIRC wasn't it filmed in Michigan?

"Production began summer 2008 in Michigan; principal photography began on July 26, taking place in and around Detroit, Saline, and Birch Run. Several scenes were also shot in Austin, Texas."

Martyrs
Released in 2008, this French horror film written and directed by Pascal Laugier, is without a doubt the most brutal and disturbing film I have ever seen.
A brief plot synopsis: A young woman's quest for revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity. The first half of the film is fairly conventional (but still very impressive) and in the second half it becomes far far more sinister. I thought this film was so dark and so depressig that I actually got pissed off with it and wanted to punch the director in the face.
I wouldn't reccomend this to any of my friends or family, but if you have a strong stomach and think you can handle heavy content I'd say watch it, but trust me this isn't Saw.

Prepping for the upcoming grindhouse film Machete I decided to watch this. This was uncomfortable on a few levels. Catholic girls, selling stuff for the church, knock on the wrong door and one gets killed, the other gets raped and left for dead. But then the girl who surives goes on a rampage of revenge. Still ends very bleak. I'll admit, it feels like a grindhouse film that wasn't released in the 70s. Still'll only give it a 2.5 out of 5.

The theme played over and over, like a true grindhouse film overusing a song due to budget, but there were only two other songs, if I remember correctly. Did kind of like that guitar. You knew shit was going down.

The punctuation in the title Run! Bitch Run! makes it really awkward to pronounce correctly. Yes, I'm a grammar nerd.

I just finished watching Kick Ass...I didn't care for it. The concept is good, but the story was shallow and seemed more concerned with showing us "cool shit" than being coherent or interesting, which basically describes Mark Millar's writing nowadays. 2.5/5 deux ex jetpackina.

Yeah, it should be "Run Bitch! Run!" or "Run, Bitch! Run!". The way it's written you'd say it "Run!"......."Bitch run!" which actually doesn't make sense. Guess it's a bad sign when even the title of the movie is of dodgy quality. Laughing

Not bad for a low budget romantic comedy. It was kind of a cross between Napolean Dynamite and Adventureland...if that makes sense.

Even after 2 1/2 hours, I still couldn't get used to watching Christian Bale as a kid. I also spotted a 22 year old Ben Stiller, too. I looked it up, and found out this was his first film. Decent film. I enjoyed it, but will probably never watch it again.

Pretty cool post-apocalyptic movie. The stitchdolls were cool and creepy like the movie itself, but I didn't find it as dark as people were saying
4/5 snake monsters

Mozart and the Whale
a very good movie about people with aspergers syndrome. The acting and the film's soundtract were really good. Good movie overall
4/5 orca costumes

The other night I watched Suspiria. Love it, one of my favorite horror films. This is a great film to watch with your surround sound turned way up loud.

Why Did I Get Married Too?

A nice mix of funny and sad with a good message. Not any better or worse than the first one...but a lot more serious. I was happy to see the entire cast return, and once again enjoyed all the fun (and crazy) characters.

While it was a pale shadow when compared to the original, it wasn't half bad. I didn't see it in theaters to so I missed the evidently horrible post 3-D job they did with it.

Inception

I incepted Inception. Finally saw it. Pretty fun. Started really slow for me. Picked up after about 45 minutes. 2 and 1/2 hrs., but it flew by. Thought maybe I was dreaming. Or was in another dream within a...no spoilers. Wink Hype sort of ruined my enjoyment, but not that I didn't like it. Just that it would've been way better if I saw it earlier. Admittedly, thought I'd overheard some major spoilers, but didn't. Lots o'neat little things make the movie enjoyable. Someone said that you can hear the totem topple at the end, but not true. Stayed after the credits, nothing.

This was pretty good. Makes me never want to miss a Nolan film in theatres again, that's for sure.
