Spawn

I was at Barnes and Nobel with Ms Potato and was checking out the first volume of Spawn trade, man I missed this little Hellhound! Anyone else a Spawn fan? I havent read a Spawn comic in years myself and was surprised on how well the first couple of issues have held up

Ugh. Read most of the first HC years ago and couldn't stand it. Really, I couldn't even bring myself to finishing the book.

I read the book when David Hine was writing and it was a really good horror book, but then they fired him. I gave up after the first 6 issues of the new regime had barely moved the story forward.

I own a couple figures and the Spawn: The Eternal shitastic PS1 game. Never owned a spawn comic that didn't come with a figure.

That game was horrible. It was cool to rip someone's arm off and beat them with it, but still a pretty crappy game

I would tell you but i want you to read it.

All I know is I have the complete HBO series on DVD and it rocks so hard. I love how it goes slightly slow on the first set of episodes but every season after that it speeds up hella hardcore. Cartoon spawn > comic spawn. Also I still dig the movie Spawn if only because the costume looked fantastically realistic.

I loved the HBO series. I always laughed at how Todd McFarlene would introduce the show and trying his best to be spooky

I'm a Spawn fan, Endgame is good but a little long so far. I love the HBO series as well.

Spawn #200

I started collecting Spawn from issue one. I stopped collecting when they hit #100, which happened to be when Angela and Malebolgia died. Now all these years later I pick up the title again 100 issues later and before I open it I think to myself, "wouldn't it be funny if Angela or Malebolgia came back?". Now after reading the issue all I have to say is that I crack myself up

I left the series shortly after they "fired" David Hine.

I honestly have little desire to pick it up again.

I've been reading more out of curiosity really.

That was me, too. I was pick-and-choose till like the last two story-arcs that then ended at 100. Never turned on a series so fast in my life. Angela was the goodluck charm it seemed. Gaiman! Heh. But yeah, figured she'd comeback eventually. And Malebolgia is back too, huh? I'm not shocked it continued, it's Image's mainstay, just don't know anyone who still reads Spawn.

Issue 200 was massive. Well worth the $4.

I wound up getting the Jim Lee cover. Anyone else?

Fair enough.

I'm going to guess Malebolgia. He's been a major player more than Angela's every-once-in-a-while cameos, and the legal issues with her character would be put on the burner again.
