I'm currently reading:

Howards End by E.M. Forester
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
The Time-Travelers by Linda Beckley Archer
The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson
The Tale of Hawthorn House by Susan Wittig Albert

I'm one of those people who read several books at once. Right now, Howards End has the majority of my attention, although The Time-Travelers is a great book about two 21st century kids who find themselves in 18th century England.

^ Wow, Doug. I've been known to read 2 books at the same time, sometimes, and rarely, cross over into three. Sheesh.

PM what you think about The Dangerous Days of Daniel X and The Time-Travelers, if you remember to. From preteen to late teens I'd never even glance in the kids section, but nowadays? There are some gems.

Reading Different Seasons by King. It's four novellas. I read the first, Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption. I've seen the movie of course, so no real suprises here, but I did enjoy the story alot. Next up was Apt Pupil, which I finished an hour or so ago and LOOOVED it. Really my favorite Stephen King anything. I want to see the movie soooo bad now. On to the body next, though of course I've seen that film, and am not expecting to like it as much as Apt Pupil just for that reason.

^ This is the exact 25th anniversary edition. A large softcover format. I like it. I have 20 or so chapters to go. Which I could finish it tonight, but I like to take it slow. Each chapter is only a paragraph, but is meant to savored for each thought. Really fun. It's like the cliche speak of a samurai or ninja master teaching his students lessons with jargon, but it actually hits me pretty hard sometimes. I've spent roughly a half hour in thought on just one, reflecting.

I liked both of these so far.

Previews has the third one solicited for November i think.

I read Dangerous Minds, it's a trek book, and it really had the trainwreck factor, only reason I kept reading.

I'm reading a short story collection by Peter S. Beagle entitled We Never Talked About My Brother. So far it's pretty good. I just finished The Last Unicorn by Beagle as well.

Forgot that I had posted in this thread, lol. Finsihed Rule of Two a while ago, loved it, looking forward to the next one.

Right now in the middle of V: The Second Generation which is awesome!

Written by the creator of the first mini series and takes place 20 years after it. Forget the 2nd mini (The Final Battle) as well as the TV show. Kenneth Johnson had nothing to do with those and wants nothing to do with them.

Rick Rubin: In the Studio by Jake Brown

The publisher somehow tracked me down because of my music blog and sent me a free copy so I could review it. I'm about 3/4 through it. It's pretty good and interesting even though I'm not a fan of all the bands and styles he's produced over the years.

I'm reading Douglas Adams's Life, the Universe and Everything.

I've been trying to reread the whole series before the "sequel" book by Eoin Coffer comes out. It's been a while since I read the series....probably at least five years.

Today, I am picking up:

Heat Wave by Richard Castle (I love the show, and am curious to see if the book is any good, plus it'll give me another thing for Fillion to sign if and when I ever get the chance to meet him.)

The Wild Things by David Eggers (A book inspired by the movie inspired by the Sendak book. Not a novelization of the movie.)

Two to the Fifth by Piers Anthony (Xanth novel #32. I can't believe I've read all of them.)

Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris (Part of her Harper Connelly mysteries, which I've never read.)

A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris (The Sookie Stackhouse short stories that have been printed before in various anthologies, collected in one volume.)
