I loved Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger but the only series I look forward to nowadays is Wild Arms.

Never got into Star Ocean.

Fallout 3... Technically still an RPG. But before that I thought nothing could top Chrono Trigger.

Does Fable/ Fable 2 count? I remember playing those and they were fun but I don't know if they count as a RPG.

Online I used to play Londinivm. It was ok. Just one of those RPG's you play in your browser.

The only RPGs I've really played have been Final Fantasy 1, 2, and 3 for the NES; Super Mario RPG for the SNES; and Erhgeiz and FFVII for the PSX. Outside of the Squaresoft brand name I've only delved into the Deus Ex series for the PS2 and the sequel for the PC.

Have you ever played BESM (Big Eyes, Small Mouth)? We're running it in my RPG/Anime Club and everyone seems to really enjoy it.

Yes!

I also like the Final Fantasy games. Chrono Trigger is epic. Now that I think about it, it may be the one I have enjoyed the most.

I just don't have the time or skill for RPGs. One of my best friends was always great at'em though, I just don't have the mindset or patience to beat them/become good at them. I'd love to try'em more often though, but the Wii gets very few and those that do are never reviewed well.

Favorites:

Final Fantasy II (SNES)
Final Fantasy III (SNES)
Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Shining Force (Gen)
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Xbox, I admit, I sucked REALLY bad at this one)
Paper Mario (N64)
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GC)

Man, they really dropped the ball with Super Paper Mario for Wii. It's an okay enough game, and I love the 2D/3D stuff, but it's become very un-RPG. :x

My favorite RPG for any system would have to be Dragon Warrior 4 becase it was my introduction to the genre.

I would also have to add other favorites:
Ultima
River City Ransom
Dragon Warior 1-3
Final Fantasy 4,7,9,10
Phantasy Star 1,2
Star Tropics
Star Ocean TEOT
Chrono Trigger
Mario RPG
Super Paper Mario

Oooh! Forgot about that one! I've been tempted to buy it on the Virtual Console.

I played Dragon Warrior on NES. Didn't like it.

I have the cartridge for all of those games still, virtual console is killing the secondary market prices. But if nintendo ever did something that let us send them our old games that are available on virtual console, to get a copy of them on the wii, I may do it with some of the cheaper games. I would send in all my marios, my extra zelda's, kid icarus, double dragon, so many. I just don't like paying for the games again. I guess I could just sell them and buy them for the virtual console, but that requires me to do something. I still have my genisis, turbo graffix 16, neo geo, nes SNES, Satturn, Dream Cast, and N64. I would love to consolidate all my favorite games onto one system. Nintendo looks like they are the only ones in a spot for me to do it.

I've tried to get into RPGs many times, and I just can't. The only RPGs I really like are the Pokemon games. And I liked the Mega Man NT Warrior RPGs for the GBA. I like some action RPGs like the X-Men Legends games and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

I almost think of X-men legends and games of that sorts more like a dungeon crawler, some argue that they are RPG's.

Pokemon is the ultimate RPG though. I'm actually competing in the regional Pokemon platinum qualifiers on May 9th. What other RPG has 493 different party members to choose from.

I've always seen the X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games labeled as "Action RPGs" so that's what I call them.

Yeah, the Pokemon games are great. I kept thinking I'd outgrow them, but I still love them.

Good luck in the competition.
