Oh Christ, Lee, don't bother going toe-to-toe with that "OM" guy on BC. In a sea of smug douchebags, he's the smuggest and douchiest. Anytime I check out something on there, his comments do a great deal to remind me that it's a community that I want nothing to do with. The undeserved self-importance wafting off of him is overpowering, and arguing with those idiots is never a good time.

I have always been open about anyone who contributes in any way to my coverage, whether flying me out, putting me up, sending me freebies, etc.

I could not have afforded to cover Big Apple without Wizard paying air fare and hotel, it's that simple.

One thing I wanted to do was provide balanced coverage. What happened was that only one side was being heard from as Wizard did their traditional silent treatment. I was able to break through that silence and at least try and put forward the other side, even when saying I disagreed with it. I at least tried to explain it.

Something I know I'd have tried to do if I hadn't been flown over.

I will continue to be on Reed's case. And Wizard's case. And whoever come's next's case. But all in all? Big Apple is a comic convention. And I love comic conventions.

Given a choice though, I'd go to NYCC.

I'll admit I was surprised to see you slinging mud at the Wiz given the recent developments, so good on you for that one. But I still maintain that posting a bit about review copies and DC's reluctance to supply them and then segueing directly into a bit about Marvel comics going online early was a low blow. Maybe I misunderstood, but I know I'm not the only one who saw it that way.

Eventually, I'll have to stop responding directly to EVERYONE who calls me/us out. I've been at this for a few years now, but it still bugs the hell out of me.

That really wasn't intentional. And looking back I find it hard tp see even now.

For a start it was saying that Wizard people WEREN'T getting advance copies for review anymore. So it couldn't be them uploading early - and I was specifically fingering certain First Look retail staff. Cos it was them. I talked to one (no longer employed, other reasons)
