Young Justice 16701_400x600

So I got issue #0 for this book that is based on the CN show and it was pretty good. This issue was written by the writers of the show and drawn by Mike Norton with the regular on-going series to be written by Art Baltazaar and Franco who do Tiny Titans and finished up Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! This #0 issue was really good. You can see from the issue where this takes place at the end of the pilot episode and the art is very cool. I'm looking forward for this to come out on a monthly basis.

Anyone else read this?

I quite liked issue #0.

It was a fun read. Though, I'm a little put off by Kid Flash's situation. I mean, he's living with his parents who know he's KF, but he's training with Barry? I just don't like that much.

I actually think Wally living with his parents make sense considering he's a teenager and probably goes to school and does whatever normal teens do. Where would you like Wally to live? With Barry? We don't know the relationship just yet between Barry and Wally. Are they uncle/nephew like they are in the comics? We haven't seen Iris yet and when Wally was first introduced into the comics, he did live with his parents. I liked that he lives with his parents like most normal teens would.

I don't know, I just don't like that his parents know he's Kid Flash. I can't really explain why I don't though.

I think it's a cool concept with the character. I do know that in the comics, Wally's parents eventually learn of his speedster identity even if not in the beginning and I think it's cool. Out of all of the characters, Wally is the most "teen-like" character of the group in my opinion. I mean, I suppose you could have Wally's parents not know his identity and made a whole sub-plot with Wally hiding Superboy in his house but that would have defeated the whole purpose of having Superboy learn what it means to be a teenager as he's going to learn it best from Wally. Besides, I can't see Barry being so irresponsible that he wouldn't tell Wally's parents about his powers. That would be out of character for Barry. I liked it.

I'm sorta curious about it. Sort of. Any appearances by JLA members?

Yes. In the issue you had Flash and Superman and then the JLA members who appeared at the end of the pilot episode.

Cool, I may give it a shot. I'll see. I hope the snow/rain doesn't screw up my comic day on Wednesday.

Based on the highly anticipated, all-new hit animated show from Warner Bros. debuting in January on Cartoon Network!

Cool. I'll definitely stick with this for a while. I'm curious what the book is really going to be like.

Same here. I really enjoy the writing style of Art and Franco so that's a bonus. I can only assume that these stories will be "missing" episodes if you will. Hopefully somehow they will tie into the episodes but then again I don't remember any of the comic series based on a cartoon (Superman Adventures, Batman Adventures, Teen Titans Go) doing that so either way, I'm good with it.

I was thinking of getting this, but I don't feel like adding another title to my pulls. I'll just stick with the show.
I would get another YJ title set in the DCU proper, though, especially if PAD was on it again.

I liked this. It wasn't spectacular or anything, but it was enjoyable. The fact that it connects with scenes from the show is cool. I really do wonder if anything that happens in the book will have effects in the show.

Having read the zero and first issues I have a feeling that the book is going to be the bridge between the episodes which is a cool idea although I doubt you are going to see anything from the comic bleed into the show just because I have a feeling you will have more people watching the show as opposed to reading the comic.
