Ordinarily.. I would have put this in the cartoons section. But I read just now that this is coming back as a mini in 2010.

I am beyond excited for this. Batman Beyond is probably my favorite DCAU show, and maybe even my favorite action cartoon of all time.

Batman Beyond Bmbv2_cv1

"The dark future of the legendary animated series comes to the DCU in a six-issue miniseries, as Terry McGinniss, Bruce Wayne’s young successor as Batman, faces his deadliest foe yet — a mystery murderer from the Dark Knight’s past! Old faces return, new allies and enemies step into the light, and the partnership between Terry and Bruce — not to mention Terry and Bruce themselves — might not survive!”

Sounds good, brings back childhood memories. Smile

Is it me or does Batman Beyond look a little too buff to be Terry? Looks more like Bruce but maybe it's just the style of the artist.

Yeah, he's a little too buff, but I'm not going to complain. I'm just happy to be getting a Batman Beyond book.

Does anyone know if this is the DCAU BB world, or the future of the main DCU continuity?

Not sure but I think it will be an alternate Earth, as in one of the 52. IIRC, Batman Beyond was seen on an alternate Earth in Countdown when they were Multiverse-hoping. That is of course assuming they're not just acting like Countdown didn't happen lol.

I just flipped through the Superman/Batman Annual and it's pretty freaking awesome. I had asked about Terry looking a little too buff and now I am wondering if this his him as a young adult which would explain the growth spurt and the more muscular look.

I know it's a bit pricey but the art is amazing and it's jam packed with Batman/Superman goodness.

That annual was bad ass! That issue was definitely something that takes place after the JLU finale, so I figured Terry had filled out as he got a bit older.

like I said the Annual was SOLD OUT! I went and checked at two different stores and sold out. A 5 dollar book?! I ordered it on ebay and downloaded it so I could read it- I loved it.

Superman/Batman Annual #4

Despite being a HUGE Batman Beyond fan I didn't love this. Sure, it was great to see the character make his first proper DCU appearance, but I didn't love the story and I wasn't a huge fan of the art.

What specifically didn't you like about the story?
