Um yeah, I'm still working on a project and I'm trying to get a timeline of when buffy toys came out and by who. Anyone know or point me to something like this? All I can currently find on Google are toy stores and that doesn't help a whole lot.

I know, I am absolutely amazed that with all the fans out there, there's no real record that's easy to find.
Not even Wikipedia has a list (but it does of living dead dolls).
I can not find a complete list for the life of me, so I just piece together bits, mosty stores. Sad

It looks like the first series by Moore was released in 1999?
When I want to research a Buffy figure, I rely heavily on figure realms database for the older figures, but it's faulty and incomplete, especially since it doesn't separate Moore and the Diamond Collectibles waves http://www.figurerealm.com/FiguresListChk.php?SID=44

and for the newer figs, Time and Space Toys http://timespacetoys.stores.yahoo.net/bufvamslay.html. They seem to carry all the newer figs and exclusives, just messed up a bit. Also, they don't pull the pics down after they're out of stock, so it's a nice history.

The Big Bad Toy store also has nice categories, so you can see who the distributers have been http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=157.

Diamons Select toys has some, but only seem to show the ones in stock that they're now carrying http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/.

And the Moore database is long gone.

If you find a near complete database, let us know!

I'm pretty sure my super-poseable graduation day Buffy says 2005, I'm guessing that'd be the same for Faith as well.

Maybe???

Seem pretty accurate and lists both Moore and Diamond figures.

There's also a Buffy figures message board. http://btvsfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi

Okay, it annoyed me that there was no complete Buffy/Angel list, so I teamed up with the FigureRealm guy and we pieced together all the bits and (I do that when I get bored), so now there's a complete database (maybe missing a few exclusives to be fixed later). I HAVE TO HAVE my Spike & Lorne figures!
You can browse under the A's or B's at Checklists, or here's the sections split up. If you click on the 'subseries' word links, it groups them and gives the dates and stuff.
Basically, they range from 1999-2007. Moore did most of it until early 2000's, then Diamond Select took over. But there's TONS of sub-exclusives released only to specific distributers.

* Here's the first UGLY dolls (only three) from Diamond (1999): Buffy Premiere Select

* Here's the Buffy Moore section (1999-2002): Buffy - Moore

* Here's Buffy Diamond Select section (2004-2007): Buffy - Diamond Select

* Here's the Angel Moore section (2002): Angel - Moore

* And the Angel Diamond section (2005-2006): Angel - Diamond Select

* and I'll get to the Buffy Sideshow and the Buffy Palz later, when I have time. I won't mess with the tons of swag stuff.

I just now saw this. Did I inspire this project? Cuz that would be cool.

You did!!

Plus I'm always paranoid about items I missed myself when I stopped paying attention to the line, so since you resparked it I wanted to see how many figures I needed to add to my too big want list.

Uhh thanks?
