C2E2 Hotel Reservation info now online

You have to love any travel company that will tell where NOT to stay. When I booked my reservation, I booked it for the Hyatt, but then also booked another hotel for some other friends. So the woman taking my reservation basically says "yeah, you don't want them to stay there." And I said why, is it a crack den? And she replies "well..... (three second pause).... it's a different hotel. The fact she had to think about it for three seconds before deciding if it should be classified as crack den hotel or not is the best part.

So then I asked her if she'd be comfortable staying at any of the hotels in the nearby area (#'s 1, 3, and 5 on the map sheet). And she replies instantly "oh definitely not!"

That's service you just can't beat.

They should give her a raise.

That's pretty awesome.

So I booked myself at the Hyatt. Should I be worried?

No the Hyatt is fine. Plus it's next door to McCormick Place.

Sweet, the prices are lower than I thought, though still fairly high. Who is up for massive room share?

So I'm assuming it would be a good idea to book now, and if my plans to go fall through, I can just cancel? I don't want to find out I can go and then have to wind up sleeping on the streets because I missed out on booking a hotel.

If you DO end up sleeping on the streets, you'll have plenty of company. Chicago's got mad homeless

Book a room now. You can cancel up to 72 hours before the day of arrival with no penalty. So if you can't go, just call and cancel the room. Better to have one and not need it than vise versa. Or you could just join the group that's going to set up a village under Spidey's porch.

Oh come now, I have no "underneath" on my porch, unless you want to sleep underneath the deck in the back yard. Not too mention I wouldn't have it that way!!! The garage is spacey and there's a roof over your head.

Absolutely. I'm not a hundred percent sure I'll be going as it's still several months away, but I'm going to try my damndest to be there.

They don't charge your card until you actually check in, yes?

$229 a night for a "double occupancy" room with two full beds at the Hyatt.

If we can cram 4 people into a room, it'll be $229 each for 4 nights (thur, fri, sat, sun).

Even less if we cram more into one room. I've got air mattresses.

We should really do the "group" thing...so whomever else is ready to book a room, let me know, and we'll book them as a group, and then we can add rooms as needed.

I shoulda waited! The group rooms woulda been a blast.
