X-Necrosha One-Shot
With the reviews I've read this weekend, the X-Force main feature was loathed while the other 2 stories were met with open arms. I've never purchased a New Mutants or X-Men Legacy book, and I really don't plan to, so perhaps that side of me admittingly enjoyed the X-Force story more. Maybe it's just that after some of the criticism Crane's received on the artwork that he "rises" to the occasion and does a job as worthy as his creepy Ghost Rider volumes. He really captures the evil of Selene and the misty wickedness of the setting like no other artist could do. These "clay" patterns actually mesh with all the horror and shock value, as Mike Choi's pencils would be far too pretty for something as shocking.
As for the timing of this release, it's probably expected, though I don't see the fuss. Should I pick up this week's New Mutants? It's getting mixed reviews and the N.M. section of this one-shot didn't wow me too much. The other portions were just right.
3.5/5 Bags&Boards = Worth Buying
