Only Magna I've read has been Ranma 1/2 and Battle Angel Alita. And I've bought and collected Battle Angel Alita... although Mikey recently gave me a copy of the manga Ice Blade.

I love the anime, but I don't read the manga though I imagine it's better.

The only manga I consistently pick up is Berserk. LOVE it. I also pick up on occassion Tenjho Tenge, Flame of Recca, and Battle Vixens. I want to start getting Bastard!!. I'm thinking of looking into History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi if they bring it to the States. Blade of the Immortal as well.

I always thought of Manga as the short bus of comics.

Comics and manga shouldn't even really be in the same category.

Sort of the other way around. Manga is actually a legitimate form of media in Japan and is about the only comic kids in the States are reading nowadays. American Comics could, and are, learning something from manga.

Pretty much. The closest American comics have gotten to manga was way back when where the only game out there wasn't super-heroes. A shame American comics didn't have a chance to grow like manga did in Japan.

I always thought of manga being more economical too. Granted you don't get pretty colored pictures or glossy paper, but I have a hard time paying 4 or 5 dollars for a comic book that has an ad on almost every other page (I wait for trades). Most of the manga books I read are 8 dollars and it's a book. Also, comic book pages are bigger, but manga and comic pages have the same number of frames throughout.

I enjoy how convenient it is to read manga on the go. I really can't read a comic on the train without destroying it. With manga, it fits right in my coat pocket. My only gripe with manga is often its so image over dialogue heavy that I can breeze through like fifteen pages in like twenty seconds. That said, that art is often beautfiul, detailed (you don't realize how beautiful line work is until you consistently see it without color), and they push the line in terms of what can be done with art and what is accepted in American media. Manga is in many ways separate from American comics, but both have great points in their own rights.

I love manga (though my tastes in types of manga aren't very wide).

At some point I'll post a full list of all the manga I have. I think my favorite manga of all time is Dragon Ball (be fore the Z, though I do love DBZ). One Piece and Case Closed are very close behind. One Piece and Case Closed are the only two manga that I buy as the volumes come out. However, I have gotten behind in my reading. I have up to the current volumes, but I am like 6 behind in Case Closed and like 9 behind in One Piece when it comes to reading.

I have just recently really gotten into Rurouni Kenshin. Also, I just started reading Fairy Tail. So far I love it.

I love you Manga.

The only ongoing series I'm collecting right now is Rin-Ne. Love me some Takahashi. Very Happy I want to start collecting Honey and Clover, but I always forget about it when I'm at the bookstore. lol I'm also starting to slowly but surely collect InuYasha...again.

I have the full runs of Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2, Fruits Basket, Azumanga Daioh (4 books wasn't hard to collect, lol), and Love Hina. I think I have a few more, but heck if I can remember them off the top of my head. Laughing

Priest. The book is so damned fun. It is one of those rare titles where you can judge it by its cover and get exactly what you want + some.

(The movie looks so bad, though. Especially after seeing Legion coming close to being Priest, and the movie is going to be closer to Vampire Hunter D. Oh, and the main actor, Paul Bettany, playing the protagonist of both films. *sigh* I weep for the fandom. Crying or Very sad)
