YAY it's being released March 2nd! They're going to have a special edition 2 disc dvd that comes with Ponyo as a goldfish plushy.

Ponyo wants HAAAAAM!

God I'm so sick of this movie now.

Hayao Miyazaki doesn't know how to make a bad movie. I think if he intentionally tried to make a poor movie he'd still manage to make a quality flick. Ponyo, like every Studio Ghibli film before it, is a fantastic experience infused with charm and magic. The lead characters are two of the most endearing and adorable characters I've seen in awhile. This is due in part to both beautiful and detailed animation as well as surprising voice acting jobs from a couple of Disney channel kids I'd never head of before. The story is a fun take on the Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Little Mermaid and is animated beautifully. There is so much life in these characters it's hard to believe they're just drawings on a page. Ponyo is a sweet story that will make your heart soar. Highly recommended.
