C2E2 sketchbook help

So i'm like new to the sketchbook thing. I got 5/6 last CCC. Mostly random stuff cause I had no clue on what I wanted.

Well I want to start a new themed one. Green Lantern/Blackest Night. I really want a Hal Jordon, Guy Gardner, Sinestro and a Sinestro Corp Scarecrow, Blue Lantern Flash among others.

Long story short I look at the list and don't know who anyone is. And the ones i do cost WAY to much.

So anyone have there favorite, decently priced, artists they can reconmend? Any artists going intersted in those types of drawings?

Jamal Igle is a very good GL artist. I plan on paying him a visit and he isn't too pricey

I am not picky when it comes to sketches, even if I don't know the name I will ask for one.

Michael Champion and Kristin Allen are another two artist you can get good work from. And they are cool people

I was browsing the artist list and there's gonna be some awesome people there! Wish I could tell you what some of them charge but I don't know offhand. sorry.
I agree with Denim though. Just walk the floor and hit up whoever looks cool to you.

Ethan Van Sciver is $50 for a bust and $200 for a full figure and well worth it, especially with the theme you are going with

50$ for Ethan seems up there but I got Bday cash to spend, and got to get some high end stuff.

yeah, he would draw tha boobies, ur gonna have to get someone else to draw tha rest of tha body lol. u should have each body part drawn by a different artist, how cool would that be

Make sure you check out the little guys trying to break into the biz, you can get some great work and cheap!

I'm planning on starting a DC villains sketchbook and getting a Van Sciver Sinestro, but my fundage is limited, and $50 is pretty steep. Guess I'll need to shop around a bit.

The best thing you can do is just take some tiimewandering Artist Alley and find people who's art you like. The big guns can be pricey, but you can find some amazing deals as well. Here are a few of my bargain sketches...

i think his work for original art is amazing

i have a buddy that has like 4 pieces from him avg 200$ each and they are only b/w! but really good

$50 for a bust by any big name penciler seems pretty average.

I love Stu. I have two pieces from him, a Zatanna and Dawn bust.

If he has his pastels on him he might throw some color in.

Mark Kidwell has some great stuff.

I forgot to mention, the boys at the Aspen booth sketch for free when there's not a signing going on. Peter and Micah (if he makes it to C2E2) are great people to get art from.

I'm bringing 6! sketch books to c2e2. I have a Deadpool book, a Ghost Rider book, and 2 anything goes books. Amanda is brining her little sketch book and we both share a Harley Quinn book.

I have an anything goes book. I usually get something based on the artist style. As a default I always go Batman.
