I had seen the kids with the Avatar costumes (cartoon version) from C2E2 with prizes outside the hall, but that was all I had seen.

The Old Spice guy won? Laughing That guy was really cool and pulled it off but the Iron Man and War Machine costumes were insane.

Ah well.

Don't get me wrong, I still will not buy an issue of the magazine and I am 100% sure I will not attend the show next year unless things change. I still consider Spat someone that needs to learn people skills and he will never be a favorite person of mine, I actully pretty muich think he should of been let go from the company last year for drinking at the con. I belive that while he is there, that is "on the clock time" and I have never heard of any job that let's you drink "on the clock".

I have to agree on this about Spat. Now, I never seen him drink at a show but his people skills, (well non-celebrity people skills) are terrible. He is not the right person for this job. He does not care about the comic aspect at all. He uses his make-up connections to bring in the talent. Each show has more and more "celebrities" but less and less comic creators.

Now while I never wish anybody out of a job right now but things have got to change. After reading the story about Spiner and all of the negative stories on the internet about Blago being at the show, maybe the higher ups will make a change

Even during non-con hours there needs to be a level of professionalism. If you're "in charge" of a show you really shouldn't be getting drunk in public and interacting with exhibitors and attendees.

There's a huge problem with that at ACen too. I think that people only volunteer to "work" to get the free ticket, not to make sure the attendees are happy, safe, and having a good time.

That had to be the longest drive home ever! 5 hours of it was in Texas, alone. Almost wrecked cause Fulton apparently doesn't understand the traffic signs meaning the exit ramp is a sharp turn and to take it at 20 mph. We were almost airborne. Luckily I woke up in the backseat at just the right moment to yell 'STOP NOW!' in his ear. I'm handy like that. :P

Dance moves...I got nothing on Zombie Hulk. :P

It was great seeing everyone, sucks I won't see most of ya until C2E2 next year! I gotta give it to the Rosemont Convention Center, though...that place was big enough to house both mine and Lee's heads at the same time. Outstanding. Smile

EVIL!!!

Yeah, drove straight through. Stopped at a rest area in OK and napped for about an hour. Oh, we got pulled over again. No DEA this time in full tac gear, just a highway patrolman. We unknowingly had the tarp bungeed down over the tail lights. Fortunately, Fulton was driving at the time, meaning we were going 5 miles under. If I had been driving, we would have been doing like 25 over. :P

Goat, I'll get your pic done either this week or next. Depends on when I recuperate. I don't even want to touch a pen and paper right now. :P

Oh, and I got a couple of great pics, myself. Lee did a great portrait of me wearing the 10 gallon hat with a head so big I looked like Hector Hammond, and Potato Joe gave me a pic of the Red Skull with a big honking swastika on his chest, because somehow I got labelled as a racist this weekend (jokingly, of course). I blame the cowboy hat.

Thanks glad to have met the group and to join in.

The Yoda artist was awesome, having remorse that I didn't buy more, had a ton of awesome prints like it, and his website doesn't have any more for sale right now

profhaley wrote:Finally found the POP table and got to talk to Foxy and TheLastDragon for a bit...bought two prints from Foxy that were fantastic.

Overall it was a good one day convention (not comic convention)...I just miss the old days when I could be busy for all four days at a Wizard con. I was ready to leave around 4:30 after getting in at 11:30.

I managed to get to meet and talk with Adam West, Julie Newmar, and Burt Ward and also to get some books signed by Grell, Darrow, Sienkiewicz, LaRocque, Azzarello, and Joe Madureira. I also got a page from Secret Six #24 from Jim Calafiore for a great price.

My main concerns was the line getting in for prepaid people vs. people just walking in and paying cash on Saturday (45 minutes in line vs. about 10 minutes...we almost got out of the prepaid line and gave $35 so we could get in a half an hour earlier) and the fact that many of the artists would only do autographs at specified times of the day (Grell, Golden, Texeira among others). Since the times were almost simultaneous I had to skip Golden and Texeira. I know that they need the time to do their commission work, but it makes it difficult to get to them all during limited times.

Also as usual, the air conditioning system sucked royally. I much prefer the C2E2 location over the Rosemont.

Prof, glad to see you back, and I totally agree with all of your sentiments!

heh, he was at the bar and he was talking to a female fan and she hugged him. Appearntly he felt that her hug was not a approriate hug, so he schooled her on proper hugging. I get up to get a picture with him and he puts his arm around me and I tell him, I wont hug him like the last girl did and he puts both his arms around me, puts his lips close to my cheeck and says, "Oh come on baby." I lost it. I don't think I will ever forget that moment.

That is a great pic, and two great stories, Juan! It's just too bad that this is what WWC has become... a chance to get stories after a mediocre comic con.
