I was born in Watertown, NY which is way the hell upstate.
Yeah, it's pretty broke-ass now. Both my folks are from the area originally, but met when my mom moved down to Manhattan. However, we have an old family place in Sackets Harbor that I spent summers at and where my parents live now.
Anyway, I spent the first few years of my life in NYC, living here (118th, near Columbia where my dad went to school.)
Then we moved to burbs. Aka, Montclair, NJ.
More specifically here (for a while)
and here (it's the blurry one)
Then I went to college here in Yellow Springs, made a baby, and have been here since '94. While I always dreamed of moving back to NYC, or any C in general, I kind of like living in my weird country town.
