I'm about halfway through the 'cast. My ghost stories are very similar to a couple of Knize's. The first one happened to my college roommate, who would repeatedly be awakened by a loud, piercing shriek in his ear. It continued until he rearranged his furniture, and then he never heard it again. That was the last we heard of the being that we dubbed the "Feng Shui Poltergeist."

The second story is probably the most terrifying experience of my life. When my wife and I were still newlyweds, we were renting a tiny, rickety house in my hometown of Seymour, Tennessee. It was cold, cramped, and run down, but it was also $400 a month and we were broke as shit. One night, when we're trying to go to sleep, we both hear a faint humming, as if someone nearby was humming a spiritual of some kind. I look outside, and I see what appears to be a glowing man walking towards the window. I look away, and the house literally starts shaking. We both screamed at the top of our lungs, and then suddenly the shaking stopped and the glowing man was gone. The next day, we were told to rub some cooking oil over the door of our bedroom and on our doorknob...we did so, and this never occured again. Needless to say, we were still pretty damn spooked and moved out of that house as soon as we could.

These were the stories I would have shared had I been able to log in to Skype last night.

On the topic of ghost hunting, one time when I was 15 or 16 some friends and I armed ourselves to explore an abandoned mansion that we were convinced was full of vampires. No joke.

As someone who actually believes in an afterlife, I don't think it's that far-fetched to believe that there are people who have died and, either voluntarily or not, have stayed here in a limbo state where they can watch over their loved ones or try to take care of some unfinished business on this plane of reality (not unlike that recent episode of South Park). There is absolutely no way to explain it scientifically, but frankly, while Science has opened our eyes to a lot of truth regarding the world, it has not and ultimately cannot explain everything.

That "glowing man" story is fucking chilling, Ben.
