Music that was popular before you were born....

Am I weird or does anyone else truly enjoy music that was popular before they were born? I was born in the fall of 85... My favorite musical groups include but are not limited to: Queen, Bad Company, The Monkeys, Beatles, Beach Boys, Everly Borthers, Tommy James and the Shondells, etc.....

Nah, Your not alone. I was born summer of 83, and I love Queen, some Lennon, even some Smokey Robinson. It's current music that I don't seem to like.

I was born in 1974 and I'm a big fan of Johnny Cash, Elvis, the Beatles, The Jackson 5, Jeff Beck, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Richie Valens, and a bunch of others. Lots of jazz musicians.

Most of my favorite were popular, active and/or in their prime before I was born. I can't understand people who don't give a damn about the classics.

I've always loved the older stuff. It's a lot better than 90% of the crap out there now.

I've been on a Bob Dylan kick for the past few months. The guy's lyrics are just amazing.

Because they are having so much crappy manufactured pop bull shit.

I love older music, there's the occasional piece of crappy manufactured pop bull shit that I like, but I mostly like older stuff.

I love the Beatles and Fleetwood Mac. I'm addicted to 80's rock music.

^I love 80s rock music - give me Mötley Crüe ANY day! Pop music now all sounds the same - shitty! Though I have to admit that a few songs (like, I'm talking 'count them on one hand') are pretty catchy.

I grew up on listening to music that my mom liked, so a lot of old folk and 60s rock. Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits are still in heavy rotation. Dylan is great, and if you like him you should really rent I'm Not There. I saw the Rolling Stones in concert for my 10th birthday.

Lately there has been some really fucking good music coming out though, so I have been listening to stuff from this decade a lot more.

Well there's not much in my collection that was popular before I was born but there is some. And since last year I have started taking an interest in older stuff like earlier 50's rock and big band/swing music. And lets not forget classical music.

I dont think anybody but teeny boppers listen to only new music. Only listening to music AFTER 1985 would be limiting a shitload of good music.
