Welcome PoP!pers the you pickem pool is back for another year. I'm sorry that I got this up late but I've been out of the loop applying to optometry schools and taking care of a sick wife.
This is the 2nd Annual PoP! NFL Picks pool.
There is no money required, it is more just a place to talk some smack about your team and discuss the happenings of our favorite season of the year. (Because in America there are two seasons: Football Season, and Waiting for Football Season.)
The concept is simple. I will post the NFL Scheduled games each week and you folks pick the winners of each match up and post it on the board. (We don't worry about points scored or the spread until playoffs.) You score 1 point for each correct pick and you get 2 pts for the picking the winner of the week's featured game. (Noted by *asteriks*.) We count up the points and tally them every week and post the standings so that we can see who is lucky...or knows there stuff.
If you are worried about missing a week or two, no problem. At the end of week 16 your worst two weeks are dropped from the point totals. (Which is really good if they are goose eggs.) The winner gets (drum roll) the right to talk samck for the next year!
This is all in good fun and because I was late in the game getting things posted the 9/9/10 game between the Saints and Vikings will not be scored. To make up for it though I'm going to give everybody who particpates week 1 a shot at some bonus points.
To get your bonus points just pick the 12 teams you believe are going to make the playoffs this year. (12 possible points) Place and asteric by the two teams you believe will secure top seed in the AFC and NFC. (Two chances at a couple more points.) Then there are no points for this, but it would just be fun for you to bold and underline your pick for Superbowl champs!
All you have to do to participate is post your picks in this thread.
