Here's an apparent quote from Keanu:

Says he met the Wachowski’s (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro’s and con’s of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title “The Matrix” and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first movie.


The first film was amazing and groundbreaking...the next two not so much. But I'd love to see them revisit the franchise and give us a couple of films worthy of the first one.

I loved the first one, the second made me worry, and the third made me want to stab my eyes and ears out. I really don't want to see a fourth one.

The first one was amazing sci fi action and gave me hope again, but then they had to have sequels

Honestly wouldn't have minded another film or set of films. Would think that the franchise needs a different cast and story altogether, though. Morpheus, Trinity, Neo and Smith's stories are over.

Speaking in hypothetical, it could be cool if they took note from Animatrix's 2nd Renaissance and starting it from where the machines took over. But then again, so many movies have done a robot uprising to death. ...Neo was the program: The One V7.0, so maybe a prequel of The One 1.0. Heh. An aftermath follow-up to the peace could've been interesting too.
