What else has Cheadle been in that qualifies him to be Rhodes?

Crash, the Ocean's movies, Traitor, Traffic, Swordfish, Volcano and Golden Palace.

I think Cheadle's great. No disrespect to Howard, but I think Cheadle will erase any doubts once people see him in the movie. Sorry, Tenime, wherever you are.

Cheadle is a way better actor than Howard. He should've been Rhodey in the first place.

Cheadle was great in Traitor and Hotel Rwanda, and possibly one of the few good things in that hypocricy-fest called Crash.

I voted for Don Cheadle. I think he's a better and more versatile actor than Howard.

Personally, i hate cast changes between sequels.

If they had replaced Tobey with Jake as they threatened...

What had Howard been in prior to Iron Man to qualify him? Mr. Holland's Opus? Hustle and Flow?

Personally, I really can't see which one is better seeing as how I have never seen one of them in the role and I think it's silly that anyone would even try and say one is better than the other. However, the only thing that even bothers me about the re-cast is the fact that I find the visual continuity jarring, other than that I could care less because Cheadle is a fine actor (see Hotel Rwanda, The Unites States of Leland, Crash ).

Howard was an awful choice and is an awful actor.

I'm not a fan of Cheadle in the role either, but at least he can act.

Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be wholly against the idea of re-shooting Maggie Gylenhaal to place in Batman Begins, so long as she retains the radical nippage that Katie Holmes was sporting at the end.

I think Howard/Rhodey was used so little in Iron Man 1, they could EASILY retcon it and reshoot those scenes with Cheadle.
