Just picked up Assassins Creed last night for the 360 and I might actually have time to play it tonight. And as luck would have it I saw the ad for RE5 this morning and thinking I should go get it now. Man...I'm just not much of a gamer anymore I guess.

Assassin's Creed is an amazing game. It gets slightly repetitive towards the end, completing the same tasks just in different locations. The free running mechanics in the game are really rewarding and most visually pleasing. Best of all, its the first chapter of a three part series.

Let me know how you like it.

I played the demo for RE5 and it's very very slick. I was never much of a Resident Evil fan but this one certainly looks and plays fantastic. Aside from the drawback of not being able to shoot while on the run... but that's par for the course for RE as i've been told.

Ha, I've got you beat. The only game I have for my PS3 is Heavenly Sword. Man, I need to catch up, but games are ridiculously expensive.

I will be willing to pay $60 for Resident Evil 5 and Final Fantasy XIII w/ the two game that go along with it.

I love Assassin's Creed!! The free running in this game is amazing. I find myself just climbing towers and running across rooftops more than I'm completing tasks. It really does get repetitive after a while but I still can't put it down!! I played Saturday and Sunday and I'm only on Memory block 4 so the game is slow going but a ton of fun to play.

I think I'm going to wait on RE5. But I've really been wanting to play Left 4 Dead so I may pick that up this weekend.

Well I still haven't got the games I want but did split a game with my son. We got Halo 3 this weekend. It's not bad. I've never really played any of the Halo games so I don't know how it compares to the rest but it's fun.

Far Behind eh?

Imagine this... its 1995 and every damn kid in school has a SNES or Gameboy or virtual boy or playstation, and all you can talk about is how Mario Bros. for the Atari 2600 never EVER ends.

No worries, by 1989 for Christmas I had an NES BUT for a stretch of time all our good stuff was locked up in storage for a few years as we moved around alot due to my dad losing his job because his back was Batman-style broken. So that was my "PJs"/government housing project years. So yeah by the time the Sega Saturn/N64 came around I had access to my NES once again.

I'm really far behind on games too. Especially having just gotten a 360. Going to school and working full time just doesn't leave much time for video games along with my MTG playing. I know that I will purchase Left 4 Dead, the new Star Ocean, and Dead Rising. For the Wii I am picking up Mad World (now labled the most violent game ever created. Have to get it before it gets pulled.)

I'm taking some time off this quarter to regroup and then I'll finsh out my undergrad stuff this fall and apply to more optometry schools, but these next too months are going to be owned by the gym and the video game. Fortunately I have a lot of friends that have games for me to sample as well.

I switched from the Wii to the 360. I just didn't like the Wii at all. I know tons of people who just love the damn thing. The only game I liked on it was Rockband...but really that was just like playin' that type of game on any other system. But now I'm in love with the X360. That is until I can afford to go out and get a PS3.

Let's keep this going as our "games we just bought" thread.

BTW--- YES, Assassin's Creed is great. I'll admit, it *can* be repetitive, but it's just such a gorgeous game and I love jumping from towers and running from the guards that it never stops being fun. I bought that and Dead Rising along with my 360 for the short time I had it. My only issue was that sometimes AC would freeze. The disc was clean though and I don't think it was the 360 acting up because Dead Rising never froze. Oh well.

Anyway, a few weekends ago, I picked up the No More Heroes/Red Steel two-pack from Best Buy. Only $30. I had a $5 gift card though for my Best Buy points. Pretty good deal. NMH is pretty funny and enjoyable, I'd always wanted to try it because it usually makes "Best of the Wii" game lists. I still haven't tried Red Steel yet though, I heard it was so-so.

I also bought GH: Metallica as soon as that came out and I downloaded Super Punch Out for SNES on the Virtual Console.

Went old school(well not that old) the other day and bought Fable for Xbox. It's fun but I have stopped playing it. For some reason (and I have no idea why) my game didn't save properly and I lost like half a days worth of game play. I was so pissed!! I started the game from the beginning but only played for 15 minutes before giving up. The game just wasn't fun enough to go through all that a second time.

I was excited for Fables, it was one of the first games I bought when I got my Xbox. I was really into it though.

My son is really into it and I have to admit so was I until my saved game disappeared (I still think my son had something to do with it but he won't admit it...he deleted my saved game on one of the Medal of Honor games too a long time ago and I went ballistic so he prolly wouldn't admit it if he did)
