Got back from it this afternoon. Very good movie. Anyone else like the series, or see it yet?

I stopped after the 3rd one and they starting re writing history. It became a series of...let's fuck with the audience just because we can..and not like the first one which was shocking and twisted to tell a story.

Well the movie for me is usually split 2 ways. The main trap and everything else. The everything else does a lot of rewriting but the main trap was one of the best in a while and worked well.

I really liked it.

I seen the first 4, have yet to see 5. I like them well enough to watch them as rentals, nothing I will rush to the theatres to see

That's when I quit. Not that I stopped caring, I just stopped watching. I'd be up for seeing them, but going to the theatre or buying, not so much.

I don't see how any of them have rewritten anything previously established.

I went up to 2, then I heard about 3 and so I rented it and thought that was it. Then 4 and 5 came out and I was just about done with them. I didn't go to them but I did watch them on HBO. Thinking that it was over, VH1 put out a reality show for Scream Queens and the winner will appear on Saw 6 and I was just WRT over the whole thing.

It makes you want to go back and watch the first one, but not really. lol. I'll wait til the Box Set comes out with special features and a made for DVD part 7.

Was this the end of the franchise or does it leave it open for Saw 7?

Same. 5 was something of a throw-away movie. Jigsaw's dead, so they have to set something else up to keep the series going.

I just watched 5 over the weekend and thought it was pretty weak. The opening scene was pretty good then after that I thought it pussed out.

I like Costas Mandalor ever since his appearances on Picket Fences. So I thought he made a good fit as Jigsaw's Secret Apprentice.

I'm not a giant giant giant fan or anything (I've yet to see 5) but I think they've done a better than normal job with keeping the story fresh over all these movies. It actually had a plot that advances film through film, as opposed to say, Friday the 13th or any other slasher flick which is bascially the same scenario ad naseum. (That said, Friday the 13th is one of my favorite horror franchises lol)
