2010 - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

Although most of you (if not all) are still stuck in 2009 I am currently in 2010 and am here to tell you so far so good. 2010 is about 11 and a half hours old here and, apart from the monumental headache I am experiencing, it's looking pretty good.

Anyway, in some ways 2010 is a bit of a disappointing year for me. If I wind the clock back to 1990 I would say I was fairly certain at that stage that man would be landing on Mars by 2010. This is obviously not going to happen so any chance I have of being involved in future Mars missions (as I'd been hoping for back 20 or more years ago) are highly unlikely.

Anyway, I'm not going to let that frustration hold me back from having a great year.

Hope you all have a fun New Year's Eve and a wonderful 2010. I think it's going to be a big year.

Everyone have a happy an safe New Year, watch out for the other drivers out there and for pete's sake, if you plan on drinking pleasee get a designated driver or stay somewhere. It will be not only safer for you but others as well.

^ Especially when Aussie from the future integrated in my and your timeline. He drives on the left side of the road, for Odin's sake!!

2009 wasn't exactly a great year for me, but I really don't like change. Seriously, I don't like change. At. All.

Same here. 2010 may be worse though, depending on my deployment status. Ah well. Happy New Year, all!

We're only five years away from hoverboarding, flying cars and power laces! At least, we better well darn be, because I've been waiting a long time for those!

Me too. Cant wait for Jaws 18.

The first couple of months of '09 were crap, personally, still affected by the previous year. Mid-year it became far better, but I still look at it as a bad year, also considering cons outside my personal world.

Have you realized that every second of every day things are changing? If you resist change, you're bound to be left behind.

Hope everyone had a good new year's eve and has a better year. I am hoping to lose 10lbs, but sadly I have no will powerful so that will probably not happen....I am really hoping to go to Comic Con in August.

Oh yeah, I realize that things are constantly changing. I don't resist change. I'm actually really really good at adapting to change, I just don't embrace it/like it.

Yep and I don't care what country I'm in. It's the left side all the way for me.

I'm really excited about 2010. 2009 was such a piece of crap I'm looking at this as a new start. Yippee!!

While cleaning out my text messages I found this little gem that I texted to a few people people on New Year's Eve:

I'M SO DURNK (I SPELLED DRUNK WRONG ON MY PURPOSE)

I really did spell drunk wrong on purpose, but I'm not sure where "my" came from. Anything else I sent that night was too obscene to repeat. I really shouldn't be allowed to use communication devices when inebriated, as a few people here will now attest to.

Couple of months ago Gmail added a new application where sending an email is hard to do if you're drunk (asking mathematical questions and there's also a second approval of the mail for "the morning after" just in case). They should do it with cellphones too.
