Ivan Reitman confirms Ghostbusters 3

Apparently all the original cast will be back, even Rick Moranis, who'll be coming out of retirement.

Being a huge Ghostbusters fan (Love the Video Game btw), I'm excited.

I hope this really, truly happens.

Well, I couldn't care less about 3D, I'm just concerned that there's been too much time between movies. Decades late sequels don't have a strong track record.

I'm hoping it'll at least be an improvement over Ghostbusters 2, which was okay but nowhere near as great as the first one.

^ And I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand the second one. A Sumerian, netherworld deity to a warlock in a painting. Talk about a downgrade. Heh.

Reminds me. I need to get that. I'll wait till it's cheaper. Just realized that the game was originally titled 3, but was changed. Maybe they had this in mind for a long time?

3D could be fun, but I don't know. I'm with you, though, Josh. I don't want a Blues Brothers 2000, either.

Bill Murray has been saying for years that he wouldn't do another GB flick unless they had a good script, so the fact that he's on board has got me optimistic. Plus, I repeat...Rick Moranis is coming out of hiding for this!!!

^ I didn't know Moranis was hiding. I'm sketchy on Bill Murray's choice of scripts, but I'll take your word for it.

Any word on if Slimer is going to be in it?

Moranis basically retired from acting around ten years ago. I think the last thing I saw him do recently was an SCTV reunion special.

Didn't know he retired. And I, like Good, am wondering about Slimer, as well. I'm sure he'll be in there, but will be he be peripheral, or, like the cartoon, be more of a mascot/sidekick to the squad of Ghostbusters.

I say Slimer will at least make a couple of appearances, but should not be all over the movie like he was in the cartoon.

And give us some genuine scares along with the laughs. The first one had some jump-out-of-your-seat moments, while the second one was just silly for the most part.

Be prepared for bootlegs of Ghostbuster 3 to have a segment of you and your wife/gf because the bootlegger just couldn't help but watch.
