I may try to purchase my plane ticket in the next week. I found a flight arriving in MCO on Thursday the 21st at 5:40PM and a flight departing MCO on Tuesday the 26th at 3:10PM, all for just under $200 after taxes. I may need to jump on that while the prices are low and seats are still available. I just wanted to make sure these times wouldn't put a strain on anyone else looking to fly in.

I know you arrive just after 4PM Kerry and I was looking forward to us goofing off in the airport while we waited for people, but I couldn't find an earlier flight without spending an extra $100.

I was digging around and found out that AAA members get a discount on Universal Orlando tickets. I think it's only like $5 off gate tickets (with tax), but I'll probably swing down to my local AAA office and find out more.

Also, looks like plane tickets for me are dipping below $300 so I'll most likely be booking this week or next.

So I'm sizing up flights and I'm looking at a 6:15 arrival on Thursday and a 12 noon departure on Tuesday.

Do airline prices change depending on the day of the week you purchase them? The price on the flight times I was looking at just a few days ago jumped up nearly $100.

I know the closer to the weekend you buy tickets, the more expensive they are. So Thursday and Tuesday are cheaper than Friday and Monday.

That's what I was hoping. I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully I can get a decent-priced ticket without having to arrive at 6:30 in the morning.

I might not be able to make it out until Friday. Would there be a problem picking me up from the airport? unsure

Assuming I'm living down there by then and have my own car, I will pick you up myself if nobody else can. big grin

=^-^= Okay, thankies. I was just thinking it might be rough for me to take Thursday-Tuesday off, especially because of school. By October, I'll be in a new quarter, which means new classes. Hopefully they'll be easier ones that won't require 508529384 hours of homework. *crosses fingers*

I checked on Expedia, and flying into Orlando or Tampa is the same price. $170 round trip for coming in the 19th and leaving the 26th.

Sooooooo important question. We're leaving TN for Florida, Thursday the 21st. (If I'm not mistaken) Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper are playing the Nashville Municipal Auditorium the night before.(Wednesday the 20th, for those keeping score at home) The question is this: Who's coming with me? I've got an apartment. You can stay at it. Driving down? Leave a day early and join the convoy Thursday. Flying in and havent bought a ticket yet? Fuck it. Fly into Nashville, and I'll get you to Florida somehow. Don't want to see Zombie and Cooper? That makes me sad. Takers?

Could you post an itinerary somewhere where it won't get buried (say on the main site?)

I'm poor, I may have to fashion my own slammer out of everyday items found around the house. Can a rock be used as a slammer? Sleep

Pogs is a game that was popular during the 1990s. The word "pog" also refers to the discs used to play the game. The name originates from POG, a brand of juice made from passionfruit, orange and guava; the use of the POG bottle caps to play the game pre-dated the game's commercialization. The game of pogs possibly originated in Hawaii in the 1920s or 1930s,or possibly with origins in a game from much earlier: Menko, a Japanese card game very similar to Pogs, has been in existence since the 17th century. Pogs returned to popularity when the World POG Federation and the Canada Games Company reintroduced them to the public in the 1990s. The Pog fad soared, and peaked in the mid 1990s before rapidly fading out.

Rules may vary among players, but the game variants generally have common gameplay features. Each player has their own collection of Pogs and a slammer (a heavier game piece). Before the game, players decide whether to play 'for keeps', or not. 'For keeps' implies that the players keep the POGs that they win and forfeit those that have been won by other players. The game can then begin as follows:

1. The players each contribute an equal number of pogs to build a stack with the pieces facing down, which will be used during the game.
2. The players take turns throwing their slammer down onto the top of the stack, causing it to spring up and the pogs to scatter. Each player keeps any pogs that land 'face up' after their throw.
3. After each throw, the pogs which have landed 'face down' are then re-stacked for the next player.
4. When no pogs remain in the stack, the player with the most pogs is the 'winner'

For the record, I've never actually played a game of pogs before, so I'm especially excited for POGTOBERFEST.

I always wondered how Pogs worked... I know I had them, but never did anything with them haha
