1 Comic Strips on Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:43 pm

For me its Pearls Before Swine. It is the funniest comic strip I have seen in a long time. I got the PBS calender and even the all the "trade" volumes with Stephen Pastis commentary.

I think www.comics.com has it to look at and I urge you to see it.

I've always been a big fan of Foxtrot and The Far Side. I loved Garfield when I was younger, but he hasn't aged well. I think Jim Davis peaked sometime in the mid-90s.

I like Perals Before Swine because it's just so weird. My favorite has to be Get Fuzzy because it has the most accurate version of a talking cat ever.

All you genltemen are spot on. I love Foxtrot and Pearls Before Swine as well as The Far Side. I grew up reading Garfield but it doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm also a fan of Calvin and Hobbes but got into that much later on.

Zits and Doonesbury at times. Shortpacked, Night Owls, and Bayou for e-comicstrips. For classics, I'd say Little Nemo in Slumberland. Been looking for the collections for cheap.

lol!

I really love me some Foxtrot, Get Fuzzy and Baby Blues. For an ecomics strip I love Grim Tales from Down Below, PPG Doushini and Sugar Bits on snafucomics.com

I saw a memorial tribute to Douglas Adams in Get Fuzzy and it took me awhile to get all the references. Also a month or so ago I read a FT strip where Jason had a really funy wordplay on "Leggo my Eggo", I can't find it but it made me lol.

For me it's always been Calvin and Hobbes, as a kid I identified so much with Calvin and his adventures and as an adult I can appreciate what Watterson was doing and the messaages he put in for adults with out coming straight out and saying them and trusting that you're smart enough to get it.

My brother-in-law has this huge three volume Calvin and Hobbes collection that I suppose has every strip that was made. It's a thing of beauty.

^^ I've got the same collected edition, every time I'm feeling down I break it out and it puts a smile on my face guaranteed. It's probably my favorite purchase of all time, I've read every strip like 5 times at this point but it never gets old and I always enjoy it like I'm reading it for the first time.
