Maybe I'll be the PoP! Abe Lincoln beard champion. It's like winning the European championship belt, no one really cares about it and everyone constantly forgets who has it.

Alrighty, since I work nights and tonight was my night off, I need to stay awake all night or else I screw up my whole sleep schedule. So I was browsing the main site and noticed that this week the Superfly show had WoW in the descripotion. I was like, hey, I play WoW, I think I will finally listen to a show. Thanks to my WoW addiction I now am going to listen to the show every week, because, hey, I liked what I heard. Anyway, while listening I felt I have to chime in, but because of the lack of a live chat that I have as an outlet for the main PoP!cast, I have to use the forum here, so here are my notes.

The Cubby Bear is an awesome bar to go to. Located near Wrigly Field hence the name Cubby Bear. I used to hang out there back in the 90's. It is still a pretty popular place with the college crowd.

The DCU game, while sounds cool, I find the idea that Superman gives you the mission kind of bad. Something like that would take me out of the game itself. City of Heroes is so established already and at least the people giving you the missions there are either policemen or regular people. Sometimes you will get a mission from a hero there, but most of those are team missions. I hope it does good, but there has yet to be a licesned MMO that does extremly well. When it comes to the MMO world, City of Heroes pretty much is the king of the comic genre, while WoW of course rules the Fantasy. I agree that if it goes console, it has a chance to be successful, but it would have to be free to play.

PC gaming is extremly more expensive, I am a WoW player and with the latest update, it was finally time for me to upgrade to a better pc. Sure it is true that you can breeze and power level through WoW, if you take the time to play the game and get into the lore, you will defnitly enjoy it and get more out of it. I went to the max level in 6 months (keep in mind I didn't have a job at that time, so I had time to invest into the game in between looking for work). Even though I got to the max level, there was still alot of game for me to play. Getting better gear, pvp battles, doing quests I never got to do and getting achievements (those are like foursquare badges!) Also, switch off and try making other characters of races and classes as some quest lines are differnt.

Harry Potter scene--I would perfer the little black kid be in the audiance of the theatre and shout, "Holy sheet, it'z Harry Pottah." He should have one of those big Globetrooters 70's afros too.

I agree with the quiping in super hero movies, it is not nessarry for every hero. As far as quipping in The Avengers, it is going to happen. As much as I love Joss Wheadon, one of the 2 lines he did for the X-Men movie was the line about the toad and the lightning that Storm delieverd. That was not a good quip at all, of course, Whedon's other line was Wolverine's "You're a dick" which was a good one. so not sure how the quips will be in The Avengers.


the Cowboys vs. Aliens trailer did indeed look great, but I still have no desire to read the book which I have paged through and never founbd any intrest in.

After hearing the Gibson screaming you did, I would love to hear a Christian Bale/Mel Gibson shout off.

I can't wait for Bristol Palin porn and drug downfall, I look forward to it. Over / Under on it?

The Green Hornet movie does not look entertaining at all. The guy playing Kato is extremly stiff and looks like he is really suffering through his lines and Rogan just is not a believeable hero for me, even if he has lost weight.

The original Tron still holds up for me. It was extremly ahead of it's time, but I can see the newer generation not getting into it as much as the older generation has.

Ultimate Spider-Man dying, just a story arc, he will come back. I am looking forward to buying the trade at a future con for five bucks.

There is such thing as Heavy Metal Hippes, the band Enuff Z' Nuff are self proclaimed heavy metal hippies. They just are not so much metal...I am a fan of them, but heavy metal they are not. but at least they can say they are heavy metal hippies. It's not decietful if they belive it.


On that note, I loved the comic talk and look forward to hearing next weeks show and hope I don't incur the wrath of anyone with my comments.
