I don't own a single M rated game mainly cause if down the road i have kids and i tell them they can't have violent games and i have a bunch of violent games and i think that sends mix messages. also i'm not really a fan of violent games anyway. I did play Wolfenstine as a kid but i'm kinda over it.

If I'm not virtually massacring somebody then why do I even own an Xbox? If I don't want the kiddos to enjoy violence they can play my Wii.

How are you going to punish them when they fail their English exams? Talk about a mixed message!

You know what? Totally agreed. When I started playing "Borderlands" and using the different rifles to do some nasty head shots, I really found it quite satisfying. Not to say I enjoy all violent video games. I think my favorite series of video games are the "Lego" series but I don't mind a violent video game every now and again; but I agree with the headshot thing.

Speaking of borderlands, headshots with shotguns, especially Hunter's, Death, and Hyperion shotguns is beyond giggle inducing. But back on topic, while I have mostly M rated violent games, they're not all I play. I like LBP, and I'm loving Modnation Racers, as is Venus, but there's just something about those games that put you in "life or death" situations.

^ Especially proper body shot reactions. It's the only reason I liked Golden Eye 64 and I enjoy blowing body parts off in Fallout 3.

The most violent game I let my 8 year old play is Super Smash Brothers Brawl, or maybe Zelda games. He isn't even allowed to watch the grown folk play Halo, L4D, Brutal Legend, Dead Rising, or Fallout 3.

Telling your kids that they aren't mature enough to handle violent games isn't a double standard, it's good parenting. My parents were lax with me and I watched slasher flicks and stuff, but my wife insists that my kids can't watch them so I don't let them (even if I don't agree.) I got yelled at so hard for letting my son watch the Fly.

But the fact is when you are in a bad mood, blowing up the undead or smashing your friends face in online is just good stress relief. Or I could just beat my kids and smack my wife around. (now I have to start a thread somewhere when I figure out what section it is most appropriate.)

i luv action, violence is great. how else am i supposed to save tha world? i tried to do sitdowns wit badguys, but they didnt result in anything. and even had a couple peaceful picnics wit a couple baddies lol.

but really tho, most of my games are m-rated. and there is no way in hell i would ever deny myself tha greatness of so many m-rated games for fear of future parenting issues. not sayin anything against u. and i wouldnt let my kids play them, but im damn sure not gon stop lol. i've been a mentor and tutor for alot of kids for several years now, and along wit tha interactions wit kids in my own family, i know how handle tha situation. its not hard explaining to kids tha reasoning for things.

There's a game called The Club that's a tournament style third person shooter with a similar announcer. "HEADSHOT.", "LAST BULLET.", etc.

This thread is making me want to dig out Manhunt and play it again. God, that game was great! Not to be confused with Manhunt 2, which was terrible.

Talk about violent.....
