As I sit here on vacation I know damn well I will be watching a lot of movies so I will review each one I see and post it later when I get back as I do not have internet access up here.

Cutaway (owned) Stars Stephen Baldwin, and d Tom Berenger. Baldwin’s character plays Vic Cooper a U.S. Customs agent who has problems separating his personality from those that he pretends to be when he goes undercover. Berenger plays “Redline” a skydiver intent on being the fastest ever and winning the Speed Star Completion. When a drug shipment goes missing after seeing it get on the plane Vic realizes that the drug smugglers are using parachutes to get by undetected. He must then go undercover to a drop zone to filter out the smugglers. He gets on the team and quickly gets seduced by the fast and dangerous sport. As the lines between his mission and his competitive nature blur he becomes more entrenched in the Speed Star moving back in the line up where the pressure is higher and the speeds are faster! Now he must decide if he is going to take down his mentor and friend or do his job. I own this movie and have seen it many times, it is good for what it is, and I really enjoy it! There are some amazing skydiving scenes in this movie, all of which were done without stunt doubles!

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief- (rented) I saw this movie in Theaters and thought my mom would enjoy it. After seeing it again after reading the books as well I definitely prefer the books. There are not as many plot holes or problems in the books as the movie. The movie is still a fun ride but does not go into the Greek myths and gods as much as the books, which is what I really enjoyed. The Premise is that the Greek Gods are alive and well and are still having kids with mortals. These Demi gods once they are aware of their lineage become targets for monsters of myth. Zeus’ Master Lightning Bolt is stolen and Percy is blamed for it. Percy after a little bit of training at camp half blood (a “Hogwarts” for the Demi Gods) and finding out that he is the son of Poseidon must now go on a cross country adventure to get the Bolt back and prove his innocence. With him are his best friend Grover a Ceater and Anabeth the daughter of Athena.

The Lovely Bones (rented) honestly I have no idea what the F happened in this movie! But I still liked it. Susie Salmon a 14 year old girl was murdered by a neighbor and complete sick freak. We watch as her family deals with the loss and what she goes thru in the afterlife. This in no way ended how I thought it would but the visuals were absolutely amazing and fun to watch.

Clash of the Titans (2010) (Owned) While vastly different than the classic original movie this is still a fairly good movie. Sam Worthington stars as the Demi God Percius. Unlike the Percy Jackson movie above this is based on actual myth, though it varies in the telling. Worthington does a decent job as the star of this movie; I do enjoy him as an actor and am glad he gets these iconic roles. Medusa looks amazing in this rendition and was one of the better sequences in the movie. The acting itself could have been better, some if not most was over the top but in a movie dealing with Greek gods it works for it. I did see this in the theaters as well and I have to admit I enjoyed it a lot more without the shoddy 3-D that was in the theatrical release. One thing I really do like about this is mount Olympus. It is just a really cool visual to see the gods basically standing on the world looking down at it.

A League of their Own (TV) This Movie has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I remember going to the Baseball Hall of Fame for the first time right before this movie came out. And seeing it in the movie

afterwards kind of cemented it for me. It takes place during World War II when all the men went off to war the business men at home decided to try to make a few bucks by introducing Professional Girl’s Baseball. This is all based on true events but I am not sure how historically accurate it is. Tom Hanks is the manager of the team and he put forth a great performance. “There is no crying in baseball!”

Batman: Under the Red Hood (owned) seriously the animated movies put out by both DC & Marvel just keep getting better! This was an amazing movie and as far as I remember very faithful to the comic books! The voice acting was superb and the animation was top notch! I also enjoyed the Jonah Hex short on the blue ray version. He is one of the most bad ass characters DC has and I hate it that he is not given the respect and due that is given him. Instead we get the mockery of a movie they shat out this summer. The Joker was great too, it was at first difficult to see anyone other than mark hamell in the role but it was superbly done. I had to explain to my mom about all the different Robin’s over the years. I really liked all the special features too the history of Grayson & Jason Todd.

The Book of Eli (rented) I am so in love with Mila Kunis. Other than that, this was a great movie, great visuals and a good story. A “walker” named Eli must go to the West with a book that will change the destiny of the world in this post apocalyptic world. He is chased by Gary Oldman who wants the book for his own nefarious purposes.

Hot Tub Time Machine (rented) I had such high hopes for this movie. I found it to be utter shit. To me it was not funny at all, even the parts I laughed at in the commercials! After a supposed accidental suicide attempt a group of friends try to cheer the guy up by bringing him back up to a ski resort they hung out at as kids when they had the time of their lives. The resort is a rundown mess now, and after a wild night of drinking in the hot tub and an accident with a energy drink they wake up to find themselves in 1986. Girls wear leg warmers, Guys watch Red Dawn (which I will be reviewing later) and Michael Jackson is still Black! Chevey Chase is wasted as the mysterious hot tub repair man. Crispin Glover plays a one armed bellhop and was a bright spot in this movie to me, it was funny to see him get in these situations where he may lose his arm. Once I get home and have internet access again, I have to google the name of the chick that played Cusack’s girlfriend in the past. The only high point in the movie for me was when she showed up in her bra & panties! My got that chick is HOT!

Legion (rented) This movie was pretty much exactly as I imagined it (except the ending) and I enjoyed every minute of it! I love Paul Bettney as an actor, He played Michael the Arc Angel. The story is that God had lost faith in humanity again and instead of flooding the planet again he sends some angels down to exterminate mankind. Michael on the other hand has not lost faith in us and came down to protect the “John Conner” of this story. For some undisclosed reason one unborn child is the “Savior” of man kind. Michael was originally sent to kill the child before he was born, but refused the order. The story plays out in a diner in the middle of nowhere.

The Losers (rented) this is another movie I had high hopes for but I was not AS disappointed in this one as I was Hot tub time machine. I think the A-Team movie did a better job with this kind of thing then the losers did. An elite group of CIA operatives refused to fulfill an assignment because it would mean the death of 25 children. The man only known as Max whose operation it was, pulled it off without them

anyway then tried to kill them as well. Now the Losers must find a way back into the country and to find and Kill Max for revenge. It was a good enough story, the funny parts could have been a little funnier, the worst part for me was Jason Patrick (I think that is his name) who plays Max. Max was just amazingly hookey and over acted.

Red Dawn (Owned) Historical cinema fact: Red Dawn is the first movie to ever earn a PG-13 rating. This movie shows the beginning of World War 3 as Russia & Cuba and other communist nations INVADE the US! A group of High school kids manage to escape the initial attack and hide out in the mountains waging a gorilla war against the enemy. This is a surprisingly good movie with a great cast. The kids are forced to grow up damn fast and learn about life, love and war the hard way.

Major League (owned) one of my favorite movies. It is a classic movie that can be watched over and over and STILL be funny! The new owned of the Cleveland Indians wants the team to do so bad that attendance drops and she can move the team to Miami. To do this she put together a team of screwball has-beens and never will bes. In true 80’s sports movie form, the screw balls come together to win the whole f’n thing.

300 (owned) I so wish I was still in High School when this movie came out! See I went to Sparta high! I would have had so much fun at the football games and other sports events yelling out “THIS IS SPARTA!!” I love this movie, every single one of the Spartans are so cool and so badass, I lost count of how many times I have seen this movie and I still smirk & chuckle when they say something cool.

Casino Royal (Owned) this is my favorite Bond movie. Craig did a great job in this and everything it is was believable. There were no laser watches or missile cars or anything like that. It was a great story and fast based in the beginning. I loved the scene right after he becomes as Double 0 with his chasing the guy jumping all over everything. Eva Green is very pretty in a natural kind of way, personally I do not think she is pretty enough for a Bond girl.

Despicable Me (theater) this movie was ok. Don’t get me wrong it was enjoyable and all that but not as good as I was lead to believe. It was still cute and the minions were the high light for me, though Gru & the girls were funny too. It was a typical movie of that kind with the guy finding out he is not such a bad guy and that the sweet innocence of a child changed him.

Quantum of Solous (owned) I bought this movie a long time ago but never actually watched it, I did not have the time. Now it may be that I was drinking heavily while watching it but all I can say is WTF Happened?

Um...not to split hairs, but isn't this the same plot as Point Break, only with drugs and skydiving instead of banks and surfing? tongue

I am glad someone else other than me didn't really enjoy Despicable Me. I still want to see The Losers and Hot Tub Time Machine.
