Today is the day of the most important man I've never met. A lot of artists consider Kirby to be their number one influence, and rightfully so. For what we take today for granted, Kirby created and innovated. He essentially set the standard. There seems to be a lot of pressure from young artists who want to "make it". Here's a lesson, Kirby created the Fantastic Four when he was 44. Though, I guess to counter that he also helped create Captain America by 24. The comic art medium would not be what it is today without his influences, I think.
