Disney World... actually I have two this week for Mr. Mouse, but I'm getting desperate enough that I'm gonna put in a regular application for attractions and, I dunno, probably merch in case I don't get cast in a show or parade. I just need a job.

At least if you can get in as a regular Cast Member, then hopefully you can find an in elsewhere in the future.

I finally got an email back about a scholarship to costume college out in Cali. It's a weekend event, kinda like a convention, only it's nothing but workshops where you learn different costuming techniques, etc. A full scholarship means you get the weekend pass and a room. I'd just have to worry about airfare, but I know going to Cali would be hella expensive. This lady wants me to email her TODAY. So my problem is, I'd hate to get the scholarship and then can't afford a plane ticket anyways. Should I just apply and go with it? There's 2 different scholarships, the "full" one and then one where you just get a free pass. I really could only afford it if I got the full one, baaaaaaaah, I don't know what to do.

I don't know what airport you'd have to fly into, but I did a quick search from ORD to LAX just to get an idea and one came up for $225 round trip, non stop. Even if you have to wait a while till you know for sure it'll probably be in the low $300 range. Go for it!

Seriously, go for it Ska. If it turns out you can't make it, then you can always take a pass, but this sounds like too good of an opportunity to pass up. DO EEET!

Yeah, you should really take the opportunity. You can worry about finding a way out there after you get the scholarship.

I just typed up the essay I had to write to send in to them (1 page max, thank god). I basically threw up my heart onto Microsoft Word. "Pwease, pwease, I wuv costooms, let me gooo."

We were both productive then. I just finished my application for Disney non-entertainment jobs. "Pwease, pwease, I wuv Disney, let me wooork for youuuuu."

I just looked up what it would be from Indianapolis to LAX, and the lowest was 400. It would be cheaper for me to drive up to Ohare, or even take the train to Ohare. Indianapolis isn't exactly a major hub though, so they almost always make stops somewhere else.

Good luck ladies. @ska u should definitely try ca, if not for the experience then at least for a break in your routine.

had to call in because the roads are too hazardous. the only good thing this snow has brought.
