Taskmaster #1
The first issue of this mini was kick-ass. Perhaps the best thing to come out of Avengers: Initiative--and perhaps, Siege--is here with a debut solo dish, and Fred Van Lente serves it in a most customary fashion.
Now, you can't tell me those new Japanese/B-Movie inspired villains aren't the comic's highlight. Thankfully the rest of the parts--characteristic, artistic, potential, and otherwise--are just up to par. It's always taking a risk when jumping on a mini, particular with the extended price, but this one walks away a winner.
